One misinformed aspect about leafcutters, Most people think that Leafcutttes eat the leaves. But actually they make a fermentable fungus and actually eat that goo for their nurshment.
Actually this is considered as a ‘not to active’ colony. When I was here last month, there was much more activity and much more populated.
The mounds are little dikes to prevent water from coming in during the rains.
