Have Narration

If your viewers don’t understand what’s going on in your travel video they won’t enjoy it. Try to offer some narration while shooting. Let others know what’s going on. You really don’t need to have some elaborate script to go along with it. Just sound natural, friendly and as if you are enjoying yourself.

Don’t Make It Too Long

If your travel video is too long people will get bored. Try to keep it under ten minutes. In all actuality, 5 minutes or less is a lot more realistic. You want to leave your audience wanting more and don’t want them to tire of your video because it’s too long.

Take Practice Videos First

Before you take a travel video it’s important to know how good you are at actual video taking. You may find that you are a natural or that you need to work on your technique. After you take a short video watch it back and look for things like shaking and sound quality. While you are taking the video, let go of your inhibitions. Don’t be afraid to act vibrant and experiment a little so that you can decide what works and what doesn’t.

Not all locations during your travels will make for a decent video. If you never plan on showing your video to others then you really don’t need to worry about what someone would find interesting. However, for most people this isn’t the case as they want to show off some of their travel adventures. What this means is that you really need to think about what viewers want to see. Good travel videos often include places or experiences that many don’t get the chance to experience in their lifetime.
