Top Attractions to Explore During the Summer

Yorkshire is a renowned location that many across the UK and the world put on their list to visit. Not only is it known for its beauty, the historical presence that this region has through the past millennium, has been the core of many tales and conversations. It makes complete sense that when you get time to, you would want to visit and make time to see it in person-especially over the summer period when you take leave from work or the kids have their summer holidays.

However, if you are planning your Yorkshire trip after the summer period because the heat is not something you could find yourself tolerating for too long when going on hikes and such, there is an alternative form of entertainment to check out until then perhaps? Gaming and digital entertainment has very much been the go-to for many over the past year, with many alternative gaming options like slots being a source of escapism, just like travel so to speak. You can discover secret slot tips here, while you are budding up to the moment where you travel off and see what Yorkshire has to offer.

Castle Howard

Castle Howard was home to the Howard family for over 300 years, and showcases absolutely magnificent gothic 18th century interiors. The 1000 acres of land is endlessly beautiful and you can imagine how perfect and still this place is, in the early hours of the morning. Think Pride and Prejudice, as the landscape mirrors the exact imagination that was used to capture Jane Austin’s novels.

The building itself is Grade I listed, and you can visit this for free from 10 am until 4pm Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend. It is best to check online for the opening times over summer weekends, as they have been known to change to accommodate for the summer season.

Harewood House

Harewood House is yet another great historical build within the region of West Yorkshire. This is another Grade 1 Listed house, and in fact, is probably one of the most historical locations within all of England. Within the estate, there is a large art collection that is massively historic and has never been moved or taken out. The Nickelin-starred dining is another reason as to why so many travel up to Leeds too. If you are wanting a palace where the kids can have fun and just run wild in the outdoors, 100 acres should definitely do it for you.

The Deep

The Deep is an award-winning aquarium that holds its world ranking place among many other prestigious aquariums internationally. Located within Hull, East Yorkshire, you will find this attraction draws tourists from all over the world in the hundreds and thousands. Home to over 3500 species of fish, you can learn more about vulnerable organisms, corals and of course sharks and manta rays that can be admired beautifully through the underwater tunnel here. It makes for the perfect day out, and at the same time it can be massively educational too, especially now when all marine species are under threat with overfishing and climate change.

York Minster

York Minster is a pinnacle cathedral that was evolved and developed through the Medieval time span. First originating as a wooden church, and a place for the baptism of the King of Northumbria in 627 when it was recognised by the pope for religious ground. The colossal church we see today was commissioned in 1220, and completed in 1472. Being an important location for national affairs, it was a landmine for turbulent years of civil war and international wars like the crusades. If you are not so briefed on your history, this region and particular place of worship of England was pivotal during the Romans, Danes, Normans and so on. So, you cannot get anything as rich in history and culture as here.

Hepworth Art Gallery

No art admirer would ever say no to visiting an art gallery ever. Well luckily enough, the Hepworth Art Gallery is considered one of the finest contemporary art museums within all of Europe. With many renowned artists’ work being collated here, in addition to the best curators across the world, interchanging between the seasons, it makes a great location for an independent day out, dates and of course gatherings of intimate and large parties. With over 1600 square metres of space to explore, a couple of hours at least, is needed to explore and ponder on individual pieces.
