Rick Santorum is Unfit for Command

Rick Santorum is an ex-Pennsylvania U.S. senator who was defeated for re-election in 2008 by an 18 percent margin. He was killed by an 18-point margin!  How can such a loser be elected POTUS?  Santorum first cited his reputation as a reformer and a “bomb thrower,” able to “shake things up.”  He bragged that he had “uncovered scandals” and “moved public opinion” on entitlement reform.  Santorum was a big porkbarreler and an earmarks king in the Senate.  Now, he is totally against earmarks.  What a flip-flopper!

He compared himself to Lyndon Johnson, whom he called the “most effective president in the last 50 years.”  He is a liberal lover!  He is just like Newt Gingrich who says that FDR is his favorite president.  These guys are not true conservatives; they are liberal, progressive lovers.  Santorum concluded that real change could only come from someone who knew how to get laws passed through the Senate (http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2012/jan/19/santorum-is-not-the-one-to-carry-the-gops-banner/).  Being capable as a senator is far from being capable as a POTUS.

Santorum said that if he was not elected as the Republican nominee, the Republicans will lose the presidency.  That indicates that if he does not win the nomination, he would not support Mitt Romney and would work against him to cause the loss.  This is a guy who endorsed Romney in the 2008 race.  Unbelievable!  When Santorum was called on his remark, he backtracked like a timid mouse.

Santorum is anti-gay (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Campaign_for_%22santorum%22_neologism).  Just ask Dan Savage.  Santorum equates homosexuality to bestiality (http://www.christianpost.com/news/analysis-did-rick-santorum-equate-homosexuality-to-bestiality-67049/).  The gays are very upset at him for his sexual and religious bigotry.  We cannot have a POTUS who thinks like he does.  Santorum’s wife was once pro-choice and had lived with an abortion practitioner 40 years her senior for six years (http://ca.news.yahoo.com/rick-santorums-wife-once-pro-choice-lived-abortion-195315062.html).  Amazing!

Santorum favors a constitutional abortion ban and opposes abortion even in cases of rape because “I would absolutely stand and say that one violence is enough.”  Previously, he supported right to abortion in cases of rape, incest, and to save the life of the mother.  For women who become pregnant after being raped and who do not want to keep the baby and carry it to full term, Santorum desires to force them to bear the baby no matter what.  What!  I wonder how he would feel if it was his wife or daughter who got raped and impregnated.

Santorum says he would order bombing of Iran’s nuclear facilities.  He is a warmonger and would be prone to shoot first and ask questions later.  He is a ready, shoot, aim type of politician.  As the POTUS, he would be very dangerous to have his finger on the red button to launch a nuclear war.  Just ask Ron Paul on what he thinks about Santorum’s hawkish behavior and rhetoric.
