Do you understand the US electoral process? I think that’s where the confusion is. Trump won, but not based on gaining the most votes form registered voters. Most registered voters did not vote for him. He lost in that respect. He won by gaining the most electoral college votes.
The election of the US President and Vice President is by indirect votes in which citizens cast ballots for a set of members of the U.S. Electoral College. These electors then directly vote for the President and Vice President.
Now the issues is here: If both votes result in an absolute majority, the election is over. In the case of Trump, only the electoral college votes favored him, despite the majority of voters did not vote for him – as proven over and over. You seem to be confused about the two ultimate votes.
