A 52-year-old man was arrested after a teacher and her students reportedly saw the man inappropriately touch his stepdaughter during a virtual class.

According to WJW-TV, on Sept. 28, the 16-year-old girl was in virtual school with 39 other students when her stepfather allegedly came up behind her wearing only his underwear.

Berea Police Lt. Tom Walker told WOIO-TV, “The Ohio Virtual Academy reported to our department that a female high school student was attending class online at her home in Berea when a male identified as her stepfather came up behind her wearing only his underwear and rubbed his crotch against the back of her head.”

Walker praised the teen’s teacher and said she helped lead to David Lowe’s arrest.

He said, “The teacher seeing this obscene behavior reached out to our department and knowing that the student was attending online here at her home in Berea made us aware of what she had seen.”

Berea Municipal Court records show Lowe was arraigned Sept. 29 on a misdemeanor charge of sexual imposition. He posted bond Oct. 3.

Lowe reportedly has a criminal history. In 1999, he was convicted of rape and gross sexual imposition of a 9-year-old child and is registered as a sex offender.
