Six-Yr-Old Killed in Murder Suicide

A man and a boy are dead, and a woman is recovering from injuries after what law enforcement is calling a case of murder-suicide in Choctaw County, OK.

The details of the heinous crime are bizarre and disturbing. Here is what we know.

Witnesses called 911 after the gunfire along State Highway 147, about 6 miles north of Sawyer, at 7:35 a.m. Monday, according to a statement from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.

The witnesses said they saw a man identified as 22-year-old Spencer Laine Dillishaw shoot Regina Vargus Dillishaw, 26, and a six-year-old boy. The man then turned the gun on himself.

The boy – whose relationship to Spencer has not been confirmed – was pronounced dead at the scene; Spencer Dillishaw was pronounced dead a short time later at Choctaw Memorial Hospital in Hugo.

Regina Dillishaw is expected to survive her wounds after undergoing surgery at Paris Regional Medical Center in Texas.

“An eight-month-old child of the Dillishaws was located safe at the Dillishaw residence and is in the care of the Oklahoma Department of Human Services. Another child belonging to Regina was located safe with family members in Texas,” the OSBI said.

The agency added that its investigation is continuing and that no additional information is available.
