Nobody Rebuked The Hypocrites More Than Christ – They Are NOT The Church...

“…but now they have no cloak for their sin.” -John 15:22

I am often bewildered when I hear people blame hypocritical, professing Christians for what Christ condemns.  In fact, Jesus was crucified for confronting and exposing the hypocrites for who they were and what they did (John 15:22, 19:15).

After getting back from Michigan this last week and speaking at 4 different events across the state, a friend of mine who set up the last speaking engagement was discouraged when he found that all of the pastors, as they are called, didn’t show up in support of the event.  I had shared with him that these in the American church were my greatest opposition.  They are threatened with doers of the Word and not hearers only (James 1:22).

I went on and told him that everything that you find scriptural fault within this country falls to the very feet of these hypocrites (Matthew 23:3).

After getting back home in Minnesota, I received a message from his wife showing me an itinerary of these “pastors” fleecing the goats that sit in their pews with an invitation that said, “Smoked buffalo wings on the Traeger for Sunday family dinner and the Lions game!”

The very things that the Lord condemns, these hypocrites are right there in an attempt to justify themselves with the unjustifiable.  Read Jeremiah 11:12.

Let me point you to a survey that was done by George Barna to confirm the truth of the matter when it comes to these hypocritical cowards within the walls of the American church.

George Barna, from the Barna Research Group, found something quite telling after surveying the said pastors from across the country who were not preaching against the sins of the nation.

“What we are finding is that when we ask them (the pastors) about all the key issues of the day {90% of them are} telling us, yes, the Bible speaks to every one of these issues.  Then we ask them: Well, are you teaching your people what the Bible says about those issues? – And the numbers drop… to less than 10% of pastors who say they will speak to it.”

When researchers ask those pastors what else they are willing to do to get their people active in their political process, Barna said, “It is almost nothing.”

“So, the thing that struck me has been that when we talk about the separation of church and state (There is no such thing found within any of America’s founding documents), it’s that the churches have separated themselves from the activities of the state – and that’s to the detriment of the state and its people,” stated the researcher.

Why the disconnect?  According to Barna, the answer is simple.  He suggests asking pastors how someone would know if their church is “successful,” which he did.

“There are five factors that the vast majority of pastors turn to {when asked that question},” he explained.

He found that the number one reason was that they cared more about attendance, and the number two reason was their offerings.  The rest of their top priorities were the number of programs they had in place, staff, and, believe it or not, the square footage of what they call their “churches”.

“Now, all of those things are good measures, except one tiny fact: Jesus didn’t die for any of them,” Barna continued. “What I am suggesting is {those pastors} won’t probably get involved with politics because it is very controversial. Controversy keeps people from being in the seats, controversy keeps people from giving money, from attending programs.”

“As they look at things, their tendency is to say.  Well, that’s not my part of my mission; my mission is to bring in more people and to get them to understand certain things that I feel that they should know.”

Barna also thinks it has something to do with the training of pastors.

“When you look at what they get in Bible school or in the seminary, they are not taught to get people engaged in these particular issues,” he shared.  “They are taught just to exegete (Exposition; explanation; interpretation) Scriptures; they are taught something about the history of where those scriptures came from – but they are not prepared.”

Therefore, this should safely conclude why we can say that the American church has become the greatest advocate of what it is that the Lord condemns.

The sodomite agenda (Gay agenda; Leviticus 18:22), the abortion agenda (The murder of children in and out of the womb; Proverbs 6:17), illegal immigration, as well as corruption within the halls of the government.

How could those who claim to be born of the Spirit of God advocate for what the Lord condemns? Make distinction (John 3:3, 6).

In contrast, Jeremiah 23:22 tells us:

“But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.”

It is scripturally clear that these self-appointed hirelings have not been sent by the Lord (Jeremiah 23:21).  They are not sanctified for His purposes (Isaiah 52:11).  If they were born and led by the Spirit of God, they would then do that which the Spirit leads them to do (Romans 8:14).

Scripture also tells us that those who advocate for what the Lord condemns are an abomination (Proverbs 17:15).

This is the blind leading the blind in the American church, desiring to remain on their own godless path that, in the end, is leading America into self-destruction (Leviticus 26:14-16).
