Post 9/11 Emergency Preparedness $Billions? States Botch Emergency Responses

Thousands of Americans experienced life-threatening insecurity during two predictable emergencies this month, both events with botched emergency responses, despite billions of dollars spent since 9/11 on “protecting” them with added security and emergency preparedness.

This week, Before It’s News reporter Deborah Dupré spoke with a historian to get his take on these events. His comments add weight to the increasingly obvious: 9/11 was a false flag for militarized Full Spectrum Dominance control of the people.

Full-spectrum dominance is the ultimate goal of the United States Department of Defense, where it “achieves control over all elements of the battlespace using land, air, maritime, space, and cyber based assets.” (Full Spectrum Dominance: Totalitarian Democracy in the New World Order, F. ‘What are they preparing for?’

“You have two governors/state governments who were entirely unprepared for what should have been a predictable crisis,” Charleston author and historian Stan Bumgardner wrote Wednesday to Before It’s News in an email.

Georgia’s chaotic snowstorm gridlock leaving thousands in the cold last night and West Virginia’s chemical poisoning of up to 300,000 have demonstrated that the United States “emergency preparedness” sham is as alive and well today as during and after Hurricane Katrina.

Bumgardner remains outraged about the unacceptable critical response time after West Virginia’s chemical leak. 

“In the 21st century, in an age of instant communication, it took nearly eight hours for the public to be notified,” he said. 

Bumgardner is one of thousands of West Virginians and Georgians outraged about corporate government’s mismanagement and cover-ups placing them at high-risk – insecure and unprotected. 

“How many billions of dollars have been spent since 9-11 to prepare communities for disasters?” he asked, “But when something predictable occurs, there is no evidence that any plans have been made ahead of time?

“What exactly are they preparing for?” he asks.

Leon and Leaks 

Yesterday, winter storm Leon hit the south with fierceness of a lion, as predicted for days before its arrival. Metro Atlanta residents were frustrated as a couple of inches of snow brought them to a total standstill, leaving thousands, including buses filled with children, locked in frozen traffic conditions from around noon until past 10:00 PM last night.

Georgia State Patrol said it investigated 940 crashes resulting in one death and 104 injuries. 

Governor Nathan Deal called it an “unexpected storm.” Weather forecasts for days had indicated Tuesday’s arctic conditions being potentially deadly. 

Around 5:00 A.M. Georgia’s Department of Transportation and the Georgia National Guard were near Cascade Road rescuing almost 90 students who’d been stranded on a bus approximately 12 hours.

It took people of good will to create and manage Facebook and Reddit pages to help stranded motorists needing a safe and warm place to stay. 

“If you know of a friend or loved one somewhere in the metro area who is stranded, here is a running list of places offering shelter,” the good Samaritans wrote.

“This is absolutely the craziest thing I’ve ever seen,” East Cobb resident Eric Stein posted on Facebook. “Two inches of snow and ATL [Atlanta] is at a complete and total standstill.”
 
“If governors/state governments are entirely unprepared for the predictable, how unprepared are they for the unpredictable, for example, terrorist attacks?” asks Bumgardner. 

Atlanta motorists crept in bumper-to-bumper freezing conditions in a traffic nightmare Tuesday night, worrying about safety of loved ones. Some children never made it home last night and instead, stayed all night at schools.

For miles, hundreds of vehicles were stranded on interstates and side streets, from Cobb to DeKalb and beyond.

The day after West Virginia’s chemical leak early this month, poison in the air allegedly caused Bumgardner’s head to hurt. He became nauseous.  Both conditions went away quickly when he went further from the leak site.

“I was about 1.5 miles away when I started getting the symptoms,” he said.    

The leak had been occurring undetected at least a day or so before “discovered,” he said. Even after emergency preparedness officials knew about it, it took hours for them to get to the site, and even then, they failed to notify or protect the public. 

“Even after it was reported by the public around 8:15 A.M. on January 9, it took emergency and regulatory officials about two hours to get on site,” Bumgardner said.

The public received no notice until after 4:00 P.M. that day.

Again, it was people of good will reaching out to others to warn them about the ptentially lethal event.

“Because Kanawha County officials failed to activate our area’s emergency siren even then (or ever during this crisis), the public found out about it only by word of mouth via texting and social media,” stated Bumgardner.

“That’s really the part about this that stuns me the most,” he remarked.  ”At the least, this was the most botched fire drill of all time.

 “Growing up in the Kanawha Valley, you get used to living around chemical plants. You develop a false sense of security that government and industry officials have catastrophe plans in place to protect — or at least to warn –the public when something goes wrong. 

“I think most of us knew it was a false sense of security, but nobody realized that every level of government was this unprepared, particularly after all the supposed upgrades to our emergency systems after 9-11.”
