The First Congressman To Battle The NSA Is Dead
(N.Morgan) Many of you may not have heard of Congressman Otis Pike, but he led the Pike Committee in exposing the NSA scandal and those hearings were far more intense and revealing than the better-known Church Committee’s Senate hearings, which went on at the same time. His death has went unannounced and unnoticed, it seems by the media and this regime.
The Church Committee focused on excesses and abuses, implying that with the proper reforms and oversights, the intelligence structures could be set right. But as the Pike Committee started pulling up the floorboards, what they discovered quickly led Rep. Pike and others to declare that the entire intelligence apparatus was a dangerous boondoggle. Not only were taxpayers getting fleeced, but agencies like the NSA and CIA were a direct threat to America’s security and democracy, the proverbial monkey playing with a live grenade. The problem was that Pike asked the right questions—and that led him to some very wrong answers, as far as the powers that be were concerned.
It was Pike’s committee that got the first ever admission—from CIA director William Colby—that the NSA was routinely tapping Americans’ phone calls. Days after that stunning confession, Pike succeeded in getting the head of the NSA, Lew Allen Jr., to testify in public before his committee—the first time in history that an NSA chief publicly testified. It was the first time that the NSA publicly maintained that it was legally entitled to wiretap Americans’ communications overseas, in spite of the 1934 Communications Act and other legal restrictions placed on other intelligence and law enforcement agencies.
Thank you, Congressman Pike, for standing up for the American people and our right to know the truth. You will be missed, even if they want us to forget you, we will not. RIP-

Yeah, a lot of very good people are moving on now. The papers are full of ‘estates’ and obituaries, these days. We personally lost 5 people in the space of 3 months. Another friend is floored, overwhelmed, with a death, a suicide, and another not expected to live out the week. Very hard on the families right now.
Congressman Pike will be missed. He was born in an age that still had men of honor and repute, serving the public. Now, it is not just a rarity, it is almost outlawed.
This article fails to mention that Congressman Pike was 92 years old and hadn’t served in Congress since 1979. Your implication is that SA or CIA had him killed and that’s bogus.

So, either the process is that they are recording the communications and data and only the meta-data is available until a warrant is produced or they have a time machine that after the warrant is
produced they can go back in time to listen to the communications.
Former workers for the NSA have written that you can store the meta-data for all the earths communications systems users for generations of use in a relatively small building; and that makes sense especially if you understand that the NSA’s systems are supposed to be generations ahead of stuff on the commercial market.
Manufacturers, commercial market, cpus have been limited to 32pit and now recently they are still only producing 64bit cpus for personal computers and other devices.
So, you can use simple common logic to understand why they would need an extremely massive complex like the one they are building in Utah.

General Lew Allen was the first DIRNSA that I served under. He was well liked in the intelligence community by folks who worked for him. I think one of the best was Adm. Bobby Inman. He always stood up for his people. People don’t understand that at that time, on capitol hill, NSA stood for No Such Agency. The CIA and NSA were diametrically opposed to one another. NSA craved anonymity while the CIA relished it. Find an original copy of David Kahn’s book about the NSA and see how heavily it was censored by NSA while in the printing presses. Until you have lived it you can’t understand it and after you have lived it you can’t believe it.

Although the article never states it, the heading and the way the article was written, it intimates fowl play. There is no mention of manner of the congressman’s death. But it seems to be trying to link it to his investigation raising some to speculate homicide. This type of journalism is despicable. Journalists are supposed to inform and clarify events not muddy them up and not make unsubstantiated suggestions of fowl play.

I instantly assumed that Mr Pike died of natural causes simply because of his age at 92 or 93 he certainly had a good innings.
