Graphic Video: It's OK To Hit Children At School?

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

Prisoners in the United States are protected from corporal punishment, but our school children are not? Nope. The video below shows shocking results of this child abuse.

That’s why Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy has introduced bill H.R. 3027, that would federally ban sanctioned child abuse in all schools across the nation.

In fact, striking another person is also banned in the U.S. military and in mental institutions. So, in prisons, the military, and mental health facilities, it’s illegal to hit, paddle, slap or use any other type of corporal punishment.

Corporal punishment, however, is still completely legal at public schools in 19 states. Why?

Effects of corporal punishment: Violence begets violence

Effects of school corporal punishment are alarming.

1.It perpetuates child abuse and

2. It teaches children bullying and violence – to solve problems through physical violence.

3. Students have sustained bruises and broken bones at school, some have even died.

Congresswoman Carolyn McCarthy has introduced a bill, H.R. 3027, to federally ban the sanctioned abuse of children in our schools.

There’s grassroots support for this bill and there are some who say hitting children is the way of their Lord – well – their Lord in the Old Testament. (This author’s still waiting for someone to show in the New Testament where Jesus hit ecen one child.)

“These kids are counting on us,” McCarthy says. “Stand up for safe schools now by signing the petition to stop corporal punishment in the 19 states where.

It’s still in our public schools and we must demand safer alternatives,” she says.

Apparently pro-choice works for killing children, just not for correcting them. OK.

      • Deborah Dupre

C’mon Jack. There are beautiful loving ways to discipline children. You just have to be smart, patient and kind enough to learn and use them. Of course, when violence is easier and justifiable according to some old teachings, many opt out of the loving peaceful way to rear children.

Violence begets violence – regardless of what faith you follow. It seems, however, those following certain religious faiths are far more prone to violence- even child abuse.

If parents learned to control their rotten kids, discipline them at home; then the school officials wouldn’t have to. Stop being mad at the teachers. The parents of those ill behaved kids should be blaming themselves if someone else has to step up and do what they can’t. A test should be given to those who want to have kids. Damn, I think the Rothchilds and Rockerfellers had a great plan. Too bad they didn’t have the opportunity to put into action. PARENTS, control your kids so the teachers and police don’t have to.

Pro-choice works for mothers’ rights and for children. The prenatal age when a fetus should have legal rights is a legitimate matter of debate, but anti-choicers want to preempt all debate and force their religious beliefs on the rest of us. They use pseudoscience and outright lies to support their religious beliefs as science, the way creationists do.

Anti-choice religious beliefs do not reflect the beliefs of earlier Christians, until a century or so ago when a few sects decided to reinterpret scripture to say one-celled zygotes should have greater rights than pregnant women.

Anti-choicers oppose sex education or family planning (which means there are more abortions, and more abortions are unsafe), family planning (leading to more unwanted children and overpopulation), or proper medical for pregnant mothers, postnatal care, or support of single mothers and their children. That makes them anti-human rights.

But they are holier than pro-choicers. Right. And Hitler was a vegetarian.

And you’re a few loaves of bread short of a sandwich.

    • paul brown

Oh, I forgot to mention. A lot of anti-choicers are also anti-contraception, which means still more unwanted children and abortions. Sick.

I had the cane and it did me no harm and a good slapping when i stepped out of line.

DON’T TELL PEOPLE HOW TO BRING UP THEIR KIDS

“There are beautiful loving ways to discipline children”

Yes and do they work and just how do you reward a child for steeling the families box of chocolates or money needs for bills in a loving way ? Give them another box of chocolates.

I’ve seen these kids that get no discipline and some are on a one way ride to jail which is a good thing for those that finance all the new prisons for profit that are being built.

My kids got a slapping, still do when needed and I object to people like you trying to tell me that love and kisses make it all right.

“Violence begets violence” And sex is rape I guess if the woman has an headache but does it anyway.

We have had years of the political correct BS pushed down our throats and you only need to look outside to see it’s not working and if nature has used force from parents to instill discipline in children for the past million years or so then I would say that nature has it right.

Next come the “We are better than animals reply”

Do you really think so or is that what they keep telling you as we wipe the plant clean of other forms of life.

Keep on down this track and we end up letting people off for murder saying it’s not their fault, mum didn’t kiss them, dad drank too much and they was black

“3. Students have sustained bruises and broken bones at school, some have even died.”

Someone died because a lump of ice fell off a plane, hit them on the head and killed them but in the real world school kids are not being killed because the head teacher slapped them but because they are doing as nature intended and playing in the playground and yes that does carry a risk of death so should we ban that too.

You bring up your kids as you like but don’t go telling me what to do because I am not buying it one bit

The article is talking about beatings, that cause real injuries.

What you take as the alternative to violent upbringing is permissiveness or neglect, which indeed cause problems. Firm but gentle guidance is different from those, and scientific studies indicate it works best. It doesn’t teach that violence is normal or acceptable.

Many people have little idea how to teach children to behave without violence. Maybe Ms Dupre could write an article on how it works.
