(N.Morgan) A new domestic violence campaign was started on Facebook and its purpose is to recognize the victims of domestic abuse. The Black Dot Campaign is if you see anyone with a black dot on their palm, you should call the police immediately. The black dot is a sign that the person is in serious trouble and needs immediate assistance. The black dot on the hand is a silent cry for help.
From the organizers behind the Black Dot Campaign:
“The black dot on the hand lets professionals know you’re a really vulnerable domestic violence survivor, and that you need help but can’t ask because your abuser is watching your every move. In just 24 hours, the campaign has reached over 6,000 people worldwide, and has already helped 6 women. Please spread the campaign, and post a picture of your hand with the black dot, to show your support to all survivors of domestic violence.”
A survivor of domestic violence gives her testimony:
“I’m heavily pregnant and the baby’s father is very abusive. With words, his hands. I’ve been petrified for so long and even more with the baby coming soon. I was at the hospital yesterday, he was with me, he never leaves my side anymore. I had to have an examination so the consultant asked me to lie on the bed and drew the curtain. I learnt over and took the pen out of his pocket, pulled his hand over to me and wrote HELP ME. I didn’t have to say a word. This campaign gave me the strength and the idea how to ask for help. I am now safe somewhere else thanks to that consultant and the black dot campaign. Thank you, 1 week to go until my due date and I am finally safe.”

Usually the abuse won’t start really bad till the guy has her moved in and totally dependent on him for everyting. I think that is why it is hard for most of them to leave with no where to go..?

This is a great idea! BUT, if you encourage people to post pictures with a black dot on their palm as a support it will muddy the waters. Isn’t their another way to show support without confusing people as to who needs assistance and who doesn’t?

My friend, Spike, is beaten up regularly by his wife who treats the whole thing as a sport. She’s been doing it for more than 5 years now and recently, her mum joined in with her.
Spike is a weak, mild-mannered 97 pound nerd, poor mite! When he tries to defend myself, she is on the phone to whoever will listen to her going on and on about how much of a bastard abuser he is. A total lie by the way as Spike would not hurt a fly.
This has got to be redressed – not funny folks!
I suggest that men who are the victim of this kind of violence should have an image of a vagina on their palms with the words’ Allah Akbar’ written over it. That will certainly get them lot of attention – perhaps not the kind they seek, but I guess any attention to their plight is got to be good, right?

the problem was he was with me all that night . He got arrested right in front of me I told the cop he is arresting the wrong person . I had to go to court to back him up . After he got out he sued the women and the town and police officer who arrested him . He won thx god . But it just makes u wanna stay away form women . They need to stop doing that . This is the quick story of someone I know. He is a militant and the very low’s tried to get him dirty by sending him a hot chick. The guy, much older than her, stayed cool, and played head-games with the girl right in the middle of the ok corral. That was in Louisiana. The coon-ass girl ended-up having a nervous break-down just a few days before the guy was finished with his job. When he left there was imminent danger: warning signs all over.
