Welcome to the New, Beforeitsnews

Before Its News is looking to the future, starting with a dynamic new style for our Front Page, along with other changes all across the site.

Viewers can still find the ‘Editor’s Picks‘ list of news articles located in the column on the right side of the Front Page, easily visible and accessible.

Below that is the ‘Top Alternative‘ list and the ‘Top Politics‘ list.

Gone are the short category lists which filled the middle, leaving room for the important Top 50 Articles list to boldly cover the page.

The layout brings the most popular and trending articles to the forefront, presented as a mix of images and headlines, just an easy click to access what interests you.

Want the old look? Click on the words “TOP 50 ARTICLES” at the top of the page and you will be taken to the old Before It’s News Front Page you are used to seeing.

At the bottom of the new Front Page layout is the ‘Most Recent’ section, arranged to show you the images and headlines for the newest stories as they are arriving all through the day.

      Hello Angle #3,

Charlie here. I will wait with “doughnut” breath tomorrow. I wish the owner of the site would slow the refresh rate down to one doughnut* per refresh rate.

Before I can go down the list it refreshes and I have to go down the list again. However, I found out the “Citizens Journalist” have the people I like to lambaste all the time.

      Signed,

Charlie (*how long it takes to eat one doughnut)

Sounds like its turned into the Q sQrew News. With Top Trending Q patties now stuffed down our throats upfront, and other smaller, indy writers off to the side.
        Ugh

Why is BIN now sticking the unrelated or at best poorly related videos in the middle of articles which only serves to create a great deal of confusion for the reader wh is trying to lacate and identify those videos and other data that relates directly to the article title and the data provided by its offer. Some even seem to be video data “plants” that totally mislead the reader and are actually opposed to or contrary to the titled article and the intent of its author. Did Before ITS NEWS just sell out to the Deep State or is it pandering in fear to prevent it being “black balled” off the internet? I mean really the placement of these other videos in the middle of a titled article is more than ridiculous…it is just plain stupid. Who’s editorial policy is this. FIRE THE GUY! Who need what for the most part what appears to be DEEP STATE PROPAGANDA articles popping up all over the web pages you are trying to read. WHATS UP WITH ALL OF THIS BALONEY! Some body please explain it to me. PLEASE. in addition there is no TOP 50 Articles Banner at the top of the page to click on if one wishes to click on what was a totally satisfactory easy to read and find old style page…as stated. The new format makes you have to search through several pages to find the article titles you used to be able to find in seconds in the “old Style page. BAD MOVE. The attempt to make BIN look like an old classic print newspaper page is anachronistic at best and ridiculously and intentionally self deprecating at worst. IF IT AINT BROKE….DONT FIX IT. THAT OLD STYLE PAGE IS WHAT GOT YOU TO WHERE YOU ARE TODAY. QUESTION DO YOU HAVE ANY NEW MANAGEMENT PERSONELL WHO LOOK AND ACT LIKE CIA OPERATIVES??? SOMETHING HAS TURNED VERY FISHY LATELY WITH THESE CHANGES…SOMEONES GOT THEIR HAND IN THE BIN COOKIE JAR!

Since BIN is not a news site but an entertainment site what does this matter? BIN is just for fun. Why do you think it’s still on the net? No one really hassles BIN from the outside either. It would be like hassling the National Enquirer. Well, not quite, because the National Enquirer is right occasionally.

I also find the unrelated video implant a bigggggg problem!

I makes articles look like nonsense.

I also find unwanted auto-load videos popping in at the bottom to be really awful!

      • Anonymous

Was also thinking this. BIN the last place I know where folks could log on, read and discuss anonymously. That lead to some fantastic and revealing stuff being shared, argued about and exchanged.
There are many ways to censor and “new format” could be one of the slipperiest and sneaky.

Keep the writer’s name posted on articles so I don’t have to bother with writers that disable the comment option all the time.

I liked the old layout better

      • Anonymous

Agree 100%. You scan headlines in one glance and click away. It ALOT more work now to dig through categories that arent immediately open and visible. Why fix what wasnt broken? In fact, now BIN IS broken- doesnt work nearly as user-friendly as before. I now dont really bother to see most of the posts. Too much trouble.

New layout doesnt fit my screen (the old one did – now I have to zoom out and then the font is too light to read) and new layout is not user friendly.

      Bring the old layout back.

      • HypothesisFree

The old layout can still be accessed here:

        - /v3/classic

The new look overall is a step backwards as it effectively censors many popular categories that were on the main page before. Those were VERY USEFUL in the legacy look. Though it is an improvement how you can scroll through more easily MORE of the latest posts.

Using Linux Mint 8.1 with its latest FireFox browser (50.1.0), Neither the search box nor the Featured category bar were visible in the header of the legacy look, but now are displayed fairly well except that a string of around 30 characters are imposed over several of them on the right hand side and the logout segment just below this is light green almost invisible unless highlighted with the mouse.

      • HypothesisFree

Also, in the Story Views box, the Total line was not visible in the legacy look, and neither is it visible now. To see it I need to select everything in the box and paste it into a text editor, which some days I end up doing like 20+ times.

      • HypothesisFree

Another step backwords is how you can no longer hover over items in a story list to see more information including who the contributor is, prior to deciding whether or not to open the story.
