The Stardust Ranch

If you don’t mind visitors and have $5 million dollars, the Stardust Ranch in Buckeye, Arizona is up for sale. The catch, those visitors happen to be extraterrestrial.

The current owners of the 10-acre plot of land that’s a hop skip and a jump from Phoenix, insist that they have been visited by aliens several times who are trying to abduct the wife. Her husband, John Edmonds, has successfully killed 18 aliens to prevent the abduction.

Aliens are not the only ones who have expressed interest in the property. Ghosts too seem to have taken interest in the 3,436-square-foot property, which has been featured on the Travel Channel’s show, Ghost Adventures.

Other than the out-of-this-world visitors, the ranch is not particularly notable and has been assessed as having a value of just over $350,000. So the $5 million price tag is clearly to pay for the alien and ghost adventures.

A Vampire’s Dream

Anne Rice, the writer of the Vampire Chronicles and Mayfair Witch Chronicles, was the previous owner of a Victorian-style mansion located just outside the New Orleans Garden District. The cost is a whopping $4.5 million, but for those with nostalgia for the living dead, that might be worth it.

The home, indeed, is stunning. It was built in 1886 and completely restored to its classic New Orleans charm. Features included original stained glass, ceiling medallions, a cypress staircase, and working pocket doors.

But the elaborate master bedroom and bath are the piece de resistance, which includes a fireplace in the bathroom and a gold chandelier. There’s also a walk-in closet the size of a bedroom.

This odd property for sale overlooks St. Charles street and was setting for Rice’s novel, Lasher.

South African Farm

If you’re interested in a home and business, why not consider a farm in South Africa? There are lovely and charming, yet unusual properties for sale that are also a means for making some money.

It’s affordable at $249.000 and has three bedrooms. But this 1895 unique house is definitely a fixer-upper. So, if you don’t mind putting in a little work and living several miles from land, this place might be right for you.

Missile Silo

The end is near, or at least inevitable. And if you want to be sure that you’ll stick around when the planet goes up in flames, this weird home for sale might be just for you. The nuclear missile silo located in the Adirondacks in New York is 18 stories…underground. It’ll cost you $3 million for the Atlas F missile silo.

The unusual underground property starts out in the launch control center, and you can build up from there. According to the listing, it’s the “most electronically advanced property in the country.”
