13 Celebrities You Didn’t Know Were Accused of Sexual Misconduct

Since the Harvey Weinstein scandal that rocked the entertainment industry in 2017, various other notable Hollywood figures have had the finger pointed at them by alleged victims.

Some very well known stars, as well as some lesser-known celebrities, have been accused, with many fleeing from the spotlight completely and not being heard from since.

Check out the list of alleged Hollywood sexual predators. From Batman to a beloved NBC anchor to Keyser Soze himself, did you know these 13 men were on the list?

1. Steven Seagal

This legendary action star was accused of sexual harassment by Ally McBeal star Portia de Rossi who claimed they needed to make sure they had chemistry both on and off screen before “he sat me down and unzipped his leather pants”.

Similarly, actress Rae Dawn Chong accused him of exposing himself to her once in a hotel room, while Scream 3’s Jenny McCarthy told of an audition with Seagal in 1995 for the film Under Siege 2 when he reportedly told her to pull down her dress.

Other unsavory incidents are said to have taken place with Julianna Margulies and Eva LaRue.

2. Ben Affleck

One Tree Hill star Hilarie Burton accused the Batman actor of sexual misconduct after he publicly hit out at Weinstein. She claimed he “tweaked my left boob” during an episode of Total Request Live.

“I acted inappropriately toward Ms. Burton and I sincerely apologize,” Affleck said on Twitter in response to the allegations, but more reports soon surfaced of similar behavior with other women in more recent years. Namely makeup artist Annamarie Tendler who accused Affleck of groping her at a party after the 2014 Golden Globes.

He has publicly addressed this since, too.

3. James Franco

From the Batman franchise to the Spiderman series, the son of The Green Goblin himself was accused after he won a Golden Globe in 2018.

Actress Ally Sheedy, whom Franco directed in a 2014 play, tweeted: “James Franco just won. Please never ever ask me why I left the film/tv business.”

“The things that I heard that were on Twitter are not accurate, but I completely support people coming out and being able to have a voice,” Franco later said during a TV appearance with Stephen Colbert.

4. Jeffrey Tambor

Lauded Transparent actor Tambor was accused last year of sexually harassing a transgender actor on his award-winning TV series.

Trace Lysette claimed that he made sexual advances towards her during production. The same week he was accused of harassment by his former assistant – also transgender.

“I am not a predator and the idea that someone might see me in that way is more distressing than I can express,” Tambor said in a statement.

5. Ed Westwick

The Gossip Girl bad boy was a womanizer on the hit CW series, but was also accused similar – yet illegal – behavior in real life.

Actress Kristina Cohen claimed that he assaulted her while she was asleep and that, when she woke, he raped her.

He denied the claims, but another actress accused him of the same thing. Neither has been proven.

6. Dustin Hoffman

The Graduate star has been accused of a variety of incidents.

Several of these centered around his 1985 movie Death of a Salesman, where a production assistant and co-star both accused him of groping and using sexually explicit language.

Both The Hollywood Reporter and Variety have published further accusations of predatory behavior and, in one case, voyeurism.

In a letter to Variety, Hoffman’s attorney called those latest accusations against him “defamatory falsehoods.”

7. Kevin Spacey

Renowned actor Spacey’s sexuality has always been a matter of gossip, but he was outed by default in 2017 when actor Anthony Rapp accused him of climbing on top of him in a sexual manner when he was 14 years old at a house party.

Spacey denied this, claiming not to remember the incident. Shortly after, another actor, Roberto Cavazos, accused Spacey of inappropriate touching during an encounter at the Old Vic theater in London.

The tally has since climbed, with eight members of the House of Cards production team coming forward as well as several others whose crotches were grabbed.

He lost his role in Ridley Scott’s All the Money in the World thanks to the allegations and is currently “seeking treatment”.

8. Jeremy Piven

Ellen and Entourage star Piven was accused of groping Ariane Bellamar several times, without her consent. This prompted actress Cassidy Freeman to report a similar encounter. Piven denied all allegations.

However, a further accusation came out, made by Tiffany Bacon Scourby. She told People that Piven exposed himself, rubbed his genitals against her and ejaculated on her in October 2003.

9. Chris Harwick

The Talking Dead host was accused by Chloe Dykstra of sexually and emotionally abusing her, without actually naming him.

Hardwick opening acknowledged that the accusation was aimed at him, but he vehemently denied it. Despite this, AMC suspended his show Talking with Chris Hardwick.

10. Matt Lauer

Longstanding NBC News anchor Lauer was fired after he was accused of “a clear violation of NBC’s company standards during coverage of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.

The woman sought legal representation (see more here) but wished to remain anonymous.

It was later claimed there was “reason to believe” it may not have been an isolated incident. Further complaints surfaced after he was fired. Lauer said in a statement that he was “truly sorry” but that some of the reports were “untrue and mischaracterized”.

11. Morgan Freeman

The Oscar-winning actor was accused by eight women of unwanted touching and suggestive comments which he denied.

He sent a statement to TIME, which read: “I am devastated that 80 years of my life is at risk of being undermined, in the blink of an eye. It is not right to equate horrific incidents of sexual assault with misplaced compliments or humor.”

12. Scott Baio

Happy Days spin-off Charles in Charge was allegedly the setting for Baio to repeatedly sexually abuse co-star Nicole Eggert on set.

This was denied, despite the Baio admitting that there was one encounter between them, albeit consensual. The matter was dismissed.

13. Michael Douglas

Journalist and author Susan Braudy accused Douglas of masturbating in front of her during a one-on-one meeting in the 80s. He also “repeatedly made inappropriate comments about her appearance”.

He branded this “a complete lie, fabrication, no truth” and that he had “nothing to regret or feel responsible for.”
