How long has a pair of tights ever really lasted? Maybe it’s us, but it seems like they snag or run immediately after we put them on.

What do you do with them after they’re ruined? You could throw them away or you could use these five uses for tights.

Get Clean

Have you ever seen those joke soaps on a rope? It’s just soap that’s built around a rope. The idea is that you won’t drop the soap, which is at the very lease a fall risk.

These soaps can’t come off the rope, though and when the soap thins out, it falls off the rope. Plus, that rope will gather germs and mold in your bathroom over time.

What’s a better idea? Using old tights, yep! You can keep one pair of tights and make at least three soap holders with each leg. All you need to do is tie one end, throw the soap (or soap ends) in and tie the other end.

The toe is easiest to use since it’s just one knot – but why not use up the whole pair?

If it starts to get nasty, just cut a hole and put the soap in a new soap sock.

Get Bug Free

You know what are a pain to replace and not to mention expensive? Window screens – the good kind at least.

And what about when you or your dog accidentally make a hole in the screen? Hello, bugs!

Instead of buying a new screen, cut a fitting size of pantyhose or tights. You want to cut a square, so it lays flat. Then duct tape the hose to the existing screen and voila!

Get Rid of Hair

You know what’s gross? When your friend comes over and tries to use your hairbrush, then puts it down because it’s hairy and gross.

Emptying a hairbrush is difficult and gross. It always makes you feel like you have a hair on you the rest of the day. You know what can help?

Yup, tights, you guessed it! Cut a small square the size of your brush and push it over the bristles. Use a bobby pin to push the fabric to the base of the brush.

Then when it’s time to clean it again all you do is rip the tights off.

Get Heard

Do you like to record videos for your business or for your YouTube channel? Clear up your audio by making a sound filter with tights.

All you need is a cheap crochet hoop and a pair of tights. Put one leg flat in between the hoop and close it. Then hang it in front of your microphone (give it a few inches) and you have a sound filter.

Get Delicate

Do you have any fancy lace or delicate lingerie? It shouldn’t be washed in the open with your other clothes. Throw it in a pair of tights and tie it at the top (use a ribbon if you want to reuse that pair).

Now you have a free delicate bag!
