Not Many People Know About The City 1200 Feet Below Detroit (Video)

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

(N.Morgan) Detroit has been one of the cities hit hardest by recession. However, at one point in its history, Detroit had a very large working class industry right under their feet, underneath their city’s streets.

Some in the conspiracy area feel these tunnel possess a far more sinister reason for their existence, to hide and shelter the elite in Teotwawki (The end of the world as we know it).

Detroit had a very large salt mine that was basically an underground industry underneath their city. It was over 1,500 acres big and had over 100 miles of roads making up this underground salt mine.

This mine stretches from Dearborn all the way to Allen Park.

The mines were owned and operated by The Detroit Salt and Manufacturing Company.

It was booming from the early 1920s up until 1983, when it was forced to close due to the falling salt prices.

When business was good, they offered public guided tours, which was very popular with school groups. You can still see the entrance at 12841 Sanders Street, but it’s only open for delivery trucks.

Read further to see exactly what they are delivering.

By 1914, the Detroit mine was producing 8,000 tons of rock salt each month, mainly for the leather and food processing industries. An increase in manpower, money and equipment was paying off in a big way.

Workers turned electric locomotives, mechanical shovels and electric power to help alleviate the physical demands of mining.

These advancements in technology pushed the Detroit mine to even greater productivity.

In 1922, the company began to dig a larger, second shaft to increase the rate of hoisting rock salt to the surface.

Within three years, the second shaft was in operation, leaving the first shaft to haul men and materials.

Every piece of equipment used today has been lowered down the second shaft.

Due to the shaft’s narrow openings, most equipment is disassembled and lowered piece by piece, then reassembled in a machine shop below.

In 1983, International Salt closed the mine’s operations.

Two years after the closure, Crystal Mines, Inc., purchased the mine as a potential storage site. In 1997, the Detroit Salt Company, LLC, purchased the mine from Crystal Mines, Inc. and began salt production in the fall of 1998.

Although the leather and food industries were once large customers to the Detroit mine, road deicing salt is the only product the mine currently provides.

The Detroit Salt Company, LLC, employs the latest mining techniques, making it one of the safest, most modern and efficient mine in the world.

Detroit is now a Moslem and negro city. The salt mines will only be handy to cause subterfuge to America.

      Thank you Charlie’s angle #3.

      Signed,

Charlie (of Charlie’s angle) Got three gals working for me.

@Slime; Those Moslem Negroes just elected another white, Irish mayor like Detroit had in the 60′s. Duggan is bringing back many policies that the Cavanaugh administration had success with. Admittedly, Coleman Young started Detroit into it’s death spiral, and Kilpatrick took the city into the swamp that it is now, but the city council is also to blame. Blatant (black) mis-management to be sure, especially when talking about the city council, except the subsequent administrations of Dennis Archer and Dave Bing who were great leaders and downright gentlemen. Not to mention an NBA hall of famer.

Detroit will become like New Orleans – Africans and where they are one gets crime, theft, murder, drugs, porn and filth…

      N.Morgan,
This is very excellent reporting. I lived in the tri-county (Wayne, Oakland, Macomb) area from 1963/2006. This large dome of salt actually continues on up the Saint Clair river valley to Port Huron/Sarnia, where there are still massive mining operations going on right now. I lived in an area outside of Port Huron where the freight cars were moving heavy loads of salt out multiple times a day heading west toward Detroit then Chicago on the same line. The environment in the mines are very conducive to good health for the workers who spent time down there. The salinity provides a germ-free atmosphere, as no bacteria or viruses can survive in such an alkiline rich environment.
More people know about these mines than you think. All of Southeast Michigan and Southwest Ontario are aware of what’s down there, at least 10 million people or more. My question is, why is the cost of road salt so high for the municipalities around Detroit? Even wealthy Oakland County, who are always complaining of salt shortages? Just another way to gouge a desperately needed commodity to make someone rich, I suppose.

      • No time

You say there are 10 million people or more living down in these mines??

          - Not IN the mines, on the surface, in the land areas surrounding the mines. From Detroit, downriver to Allen Park and Lincoln Park and east all the way to Port Huron and Sarnia, Ontario.

We have huge Gypsum mines over here under Grand Rapids too, on the western side of the State. They’re all closed though.

    • NWO for Dummies.

they might want to open it up to health tourists apparently the salt air is good for a wide range of illnesses – as i thought of that I just realized america is about sickness not health – it would be akin to publicizing one of the many cures for cancer – they’d come down on the mine owner like a ton of salt and he would have to flee to mexico and take his mine with him.

      • NWO for Dummies.

Once the mine is gone Detroit would collapse. along with the american auto industry
this would signal the end of the american economy which will lead to the end of america
better not open it up to health tourists its not worth it
sick is the way to go
        for americas sake
        in fact eat more macdonalds
your country depends on it
