The Lawlessness of the Left

Let me start off by asking you a question. It’s a question on the Immigration and Naturalization test, so let’s see if you know it. Here’s the question. What is the Constitution?  It’s the supreme law of the land. I’m not sure many of us ever stop to think about the Constitution that way. To many of us it’s just an historical piece of paper.

SOME HISTORY OF LAWS

But let’s consider this. Every civilization has set down rules or laws to live by. God gave Moses the 10 commandments to share with the Israelites. The Sumerians had the Sumerian Code of Ur-Nammu, and the Babylonians had the Code of Hammurabi. The Romans developed the Twelve Tables of Roman law and later established the Justinian Code. I could go on and on, but the point is that even in ancient times, leaders recognized that if a large group of people was going to live together peaceably, they would need rules or laws for citizens to comply with. For example, if there wasn’t a law against stealing and consequences for breaking such a law, civilization would break down. Those from whom items were stolen, might take it into their own hands to physically harm or even kill the perpetrators. It’s only a few quick hops from there to total anarchy.

Americans have lived relatively peacefully for over two hundred years abiding by our local, statewide, and federal laws all supposedly under the umbrella of the US Constitution. Unfortunately, however, the left, emboldened by cultural changes over the last four decades, has decided that following federal laws is optional if it doesn’t fit with one’s view of the world.

SANCTUARY CITIES

Let’s take the example of sanctuary cities. It’s a movement that began in the 1980s by some religious groups as a type of resistance to “perceived state injustices” against illegal immigrants from El Salvador and Guatemala.

In a recent case, and I’m citing from an article on the website Law Enforcement Today from a post on February of this year, Sheriff Sally Hernandez, who oversees the Sheriff’s department in Austin, Texas, has refused to comply with Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainers. In plain English this means that ICE sends a request to local law enforcement departments to hold or detain an illegal immigrant until ICE can pick them up and process them for deportation. Hernandez says she is refusing to hold these illegals for the federal government until a court decides whether or not she needs to cooperate. So, the good sheriff will not comply with the law unless a judge orders her to do so. Huh…I thought she took an oath to uphold the law?

Fortunately for Texas, though, a Federal Appeals court has ruled in favor of the state enabling it to enforce its sanctuary city ban. And this ruling has fangs! Any sheriff who refuses to follow the law and detain illegals for ICE apprehension, will be jailed and may have to pay penalties as high as $25,000 a day until they adhere to the letter of the law. I hope Sally Hernandez is listening.

It seems at least some states have their acts together. It’s time to rein in the lawlessness of liberal immigration activists. Let’s see what God’s word says about following laws. Romans tells us, “Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgement…” I wouldn’t want to incur God’s judgment. Let’s hope Hernandez, either through fear of fines, jail time, or eternal judgment begins to follow the law.

OBAMA ENCOURAGED LAWLESSNESS

Here’s another fine example of a leftist encouraging lawbreaking. What you’re going to hear is a young Hispanic journalist named Gina Rodriguez who is interviewing Barack Obama. The interview takes place in 2017 soon after Obama has left the White House.

Did you get that folks? Ms. Rodriguez asks the President if an illegal immigrant votes in an election will ICE come after him and his family? The former President’s answer should have emphatically made clear that illegal immigrants cannot vote in any of our elections because they are not legal citizens of this country. Instead, through his answer, he actually implies that illegals can vote in our elections. This is not surprising since the left will use any tactic to win elections and keep their power, but it certainly exemplifies lawlessness.

A LAWLESS MAYOR

Hey, how about Democrat Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf? She felt perfectly justified in warning illegals through social media that ICE was planning a raid of the Bay Area to round up illegals for deportation. Unfortunately, because of her actions (which some view as obstruction of justice), ICE only apprehended 232 of the 864 illegals living in the area. What is of particular note about the apprehensions is that of the 232 individuals arrested, 180 of them were found to have criminal records. That means 78% of those captured were criminal aliens. That’s a stunning figure. I thought all illegal immigrants were mothers and children. That’s what the left and their willing propagandists in the media tell us.

This occurred in February of 2018, and according to Thomas Homan, acting director of ICE at the time, of the nearly 632 that escaped capture, some went on to commit more crimes. But, that doesn’t bother leftist Mayor Libby Schaaf. Here’s what she had to say about her actions. “I have no regrets, none. The more time goes by, the more certain I feel that I did the right thing in standing up for our community and pointing out our values are not aligned with our laws. That’s hopefully the message that is sent out.”

No, sorry Madam Mayor. That’s not the message you’ve sent to the public. One of the messages you’ve sent to the public is that you value non-citizens over American citizens. And, the other message you’ve sent is that you feel you’re above the law and can pick and choose which laws you will follow. This is not what God intended. His word tells us, “Be subject for the Lord’s sake to every human institution, whether it be to the emperor as supreme, or to governors as sent by him to punish those who do evil and to praise those who do good. For this is the will of God, that by doing good you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people. Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God. Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor.” I think those words say it all. Our job is to honor the law and our President because it is God’s will. Will the left continue to choose which laws to follow and which ones to snub their noses at? Of course. Remember, the end always justifies the means for the left.

LEFTIST VOTER INTIMIDATION

Here’s another example of lawlessness from the Dems that some of you might have forgotten about. Remember a little incident that happened in Philadelphia on voting day in 2008? No? Well, let me help you out. On November 4th people went to the polls to vote for President, but at one polling station two members of the New Black Panthers stood “guard” near the doorway. Both wore black, military-like garb, glared at voters, and one even menaced a nightstick. A clear example of voter intimidation.

The Bush administration actually filed charges against the group. However, the Obama Justice Department led by Eric Holder, determined not to pursue a case of voter intimidation against the New Black Panthers. Let’s listen to a conversation between Bill O’Reilly and Bartle Bull, a liberal, a civil rights lawyer and a former publisher of the “Village Voice.”

Well, you heard it. It seems Holder chose not to prosecute an illegal action, voter intimidation, because he wanted to keep African Americans and leftist political activists on the Obama train for the next election. So, for the left, the law is expendable if you need to keep constituents on your side.

CHOOSING WHICH LAWS TO FOLLOW

Okay, here’s yet another situation where the left decided they didn’t like a law, and refused to uphold it. In February of 2011, the Obama administration made the decision not to defend the constitutionality of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA). The act defined marriage as between a man and a woman and “clarified that no state had to recognize a homosexual marriage from another state.” Obama and Holder decided the law, in their eyes, was unconstitutional. Democrats like Nancy Pelosi praised the administration’s move.

The problem is it had been a well-established policy that the Justice Department would defend federal law unless it conflicted with the President’s Article II powers. This is called the “duty to defend.” In 2013 Justice Anthony Kennedy upbraided the Obama administration, saying the decision not to defend was unusual because it was based on the “Executive’s own conclusion” and not on a court ruling. And, the late Justice Antonin Scalia agreed, stating: “There is no justification for the Justice Department’s abandoning the law.” However, I think you’re already learning that the law doesn’t mean much to Dems. They will decide which laws to obey and which ones to spit on.

PROSECUTING AND PERSECUTING CONSERVATIVES

Now let’s switch our focus a bit from leftists choosing not to follow laws they don’t like to leftists prosecuting conservatives and letting liberals off the hook for similar crimes, a two tiered system if there ever was one.

PERSECUTING D’SOUZA

A prime example of this two tiered system is the campaign finance violation case against Dinesh D’Souza. D’Souza was convicted in 2014 of illegally contributing to a Republican candidate. Apparently he gave $20,000 to a friend who was running for office. Unfortunately, individuals can only give $2500 per election. So, according to the law, D’Souza was, in fact, guilty of committing a campaign finance violation. He agrees with this; however, this is a violation which many people, including Dems, make and get slapped on the wrist. In fact, there were many illegal contributions to the 2008 Obama campaign, including from Hamas-controlled Gaza, if you can believe it. Yet, no one was fined or jailed.

So, what happened to D’Souza? He spent eight months in prison, paid a $30,000 fine, and had to see a therapist whose findings stated that he was arrogant and intolerant of others’ feelings. Whoa! Did we just step into the Soviet Union? Let’s restate this for full effect. Dinesh D’Souza had to go to a re-education camp to get his mind right. And, by the way, if we locked up all arrogant politicians there would be no one left in Congress. Oh, and I forgot to mention that part of D’Souza’s punishment included five years of probation during which time he has to complete eight hours of therapy each week for the entire five years he’s on probation as well as one day of community service per week.

So what was D’Souza’s real crime? He made a movie highly critical of Obama entitled Obama’s America: 2016. And, just like Obama weaponized the IRS against conservative groups, he used the Justice Department to target D’Souza. One has to wonder if anything like this will happen to Rosie O’Donnell who contributed more than $90,000 during the 2017-18 election cycle to Democrat politicians. Dinesh explained on Twitter, “I notice the leftist weasels who call me ‘felon’ have gone dead silent about Rosie committing five–yes five–campaign finance violations.” Nothing thus far has happened to Rosie regarding her lawbreaking. Can you say “two tiered system?”

KAVANAUGH V ELLIS & FAIRFAX

Let’s turn to sexual harassment charges and check out the two tiered system there. I know the circus that was the Kavanaugh hearings are probably still fresh in your mind. Recall that Dr. Christine Blasey, a professor at Palo Alto University in California, accused now Justice Brett Kavanaugh of groping her in a beer-induced fumbled attempt to unclothe her and have his way with her when they were in high school. The over-30-year-old claim was haltingly told to Congress by Blasey who couldn’t remember the year, the house, or many other important details. Further, she had absolutely no witnesses to backup her claim.

Yet, the media and the Dems felt free to disparage this good man’s reputation because their goal was to have him ruined beyond recognition so he would never get a seat on the high court. The left’s mantra was “a woman should always be believed.” Really? I’m sure you’ve known women who have lied. In that regard, men and women are entirely equal. Despite the salacious smears, Kavanaugh thankfully prevailed and is now sitting on the high court.

Now let’s take a look at Democrat Keith Ellison who is currently the Attorney General for Minnesota. Ellison’s former girlfriend, Karen Monahan, claimed that Ellison was emotionally and physically abusive and at one point, dragged her off her bed by her feet yelling obscenities at her. She further claimed that the abuse went on for years and her medical records would corroborate this. Democrat lawmakers who all wanted Kavanaugh publicly lynched, had barely a word to say about the allegations against Ellison. Oh, that’s right. Ellison is black and a Democrat. Therefore, there’s a different set of rules for him.

Then, there is the curious case of the Lt. Governor of Virginia, Justin Fairfax. Dr. Vanessa Tyson, a professor at Scripps College in California accused Fairfax of sexual assault. I’ll spare you the details, but suffice it to say force was involved. Tyson told the Washington Post about the incident, but the paper did not publish the story claiming it couldn’t corroborate the story. Hmmm…that didn’t stop the Post from airing Dr. Christine Blasey’s allegations against Kavanaugh regardless of corroboration.

Oh, and there is another woman claiming Fairfax also assaulted her. If you think these women will get a fair shake in airing their grievances and being believed by the very liberals who claim all women must be believed, think again. Fairfax is black and a Democrat. Therefore, he is untouchable. So, there’s one set of rules for Republicans and one set of rules for Democrats, one set for white folks and one for black folks. Got it.

THE INJUSTICE OF THE SMOLLETT CASE

I guess that helps explain the drama that is the life and lies of Jussie Smollett, Empire actor. This guy has been unbelievable First he claims two white guys in MAGA hats accosted him at 2 a.m. on the coldest night of the year in the most liberal city in America. They allegedly put a rope around his neck and doused him with bleach all while yelling, “This is MAGA country!” The first time I heard this story, I rolled my eyes and told my husband, “He’s lying. Watch. This’ll be a hoax.” He agreed with me. I’ll venture to guess that most of America felt Jussie’s story was sketchy.

As the weeks marched on, we were treated to the fact there was no video showing the incident, but a security video revealed the identities of two nearby men when the encounter happened. They were identified as Olabinjo and Abimbola Osundairo, Nigerian brothers. After extensive questioning, the brothers revealed they were paid $3500 by Jussie to stage the beat down. Many of the items involved in the incident were recovered at the brothers’ home and Jussie’s residence. And, Smollett’s incomprehensible arrogance was on parade when a check was recovered for that exact amount paid to the brothers. Note to Jussie, don’t pay people to do bad things with a check. I think Charles Barkley agrees.

Eventually, the Empire actor was arrested for perpetrating a hoax. Listen to Chicago Police Chief Eddie Johnson sound off on Jussie Smollett’s racial hoax.

The Police Chief was right on target. Couldn’t have said it better myself, except that I probably would’ve included how Smollett smeared 62 million Americans who voted for Trump through this charade.

So Americans waited for Jussie’s comeuppance in a court of law on 17 charges. Unfortunately however, Kim Foxx, the Cook County State’s Attorney, dropped all charges against the actor. This was done under a so-called plea deal in which he had to forfeit the $10,000 he put up as bond and had to complete 16 hours of community service, which he completed by hanging out at Jesse Jackson’s Push Coalition. Workers there never saw him lift a finger to help with anything. They stated that he just hung out and drank coffee. What service did he participate in again?

Oh, and by the way, Foxx also expunged Smollet’s file, so now no one can see all the charges and the evidence. Additionally, he did not have to issue an apologize to the community and to America for the stunt. Instead, because the file was expunged he felt confident he could continue with his now debunked lie. Reminded me of OJ Simpson after his acquittal when he told the world he was going to keep looking until he found Nicole’s killer. Give me a break! Life’s great if you’re a star, rich, black, gay (in Smollet’s case), and a leftist! Let any conservative commit a fake crime like that smearing others and causing law enforcement to spend $130,000 investigating, and we would be getting reports every evening for six months expounding on all the details of the chicanery.

PREDAWN RAIDS FOR CONSERVATIVES

What’s interesting to note is that Smollett was allowed to turn himself in to police at the precinct. This courtesy was not given to two conservatives charged with crimes. Both Paul Manafort and Roger Stone, were awakened right before dawn by agents pounding on their front door demanding entrance. Both families were stunned to find the FBI in riot gear with guns drawn. Manafort is 70 and Stone is 68. Neither man had weapons at his residence, and both men were accused of white collar crimes. Stone is accused of obstruction regarding a House investigation about Wikileaks contacts. There are several other charges and it seems most of them entail alleged lying to the House committee. Hold on a minute, didn’t James Clapper lie to a House committee? Let’s listen.

Okay, so Clapper said the NSA doesn’t collect any data on Americans. Hard to believe. You should see the video clip on YouTube. His body language speaks volumes. Let’s now listen to how he later amended his answer.

Least untruthful manner? Unbelievable. So, Clapper lied in a Senate hearing, yet he’s suffered no consequences at all. Well, he’s a deep stater and a liberal, so he’s off the hook, unlike poor Roger Stone.

Back to Manafort. He entered into a plea deal with the Mueller team over unregistered lobbying for Ukraine, a foreign government. There were two Democrats who worked with Manafort on the Ukraine lobbying campaign. Both Tony Podesta and Greg Craig, Democrats, worked as unregistered lobbyists and to this day, unsurprisingly, they remain unindicted and free men. But, if you’re a Republican or a conservative, you’re treated to a paramilitary style raid at pre-dawn hours. No one is going to give you a sweetheart deal where you can have your file expunged and pay a nominal fee to get out of jail, like Jussie Smollett.

Let’s face it, if Manafort and Stone had never worked for Trump, they would not be in the predicaments they are in now. This is all about the collusion delusion of the Deep State.

THE UNSUCCESSFUL SILENT COUP

This Trump-Derangement-Syndrome witch hunt began when Hillary Clinton decided she was entitled to the Presidency. Those in the Deep State like James Comey, John Brennan, and James Clapper who wanted her elected eagerly accepted the salacious and unverified Steele dossier as evidence that Trump was compromised by the Russians. In actuality, the deep state knew it was the Clinton campaign who paid Christopher Steele, a former British spy, to produce the fiction all the while working with his contacts in Russia. This is the real Russian collusion, and it is clearly on behalf of Hillary Clinton.

In addition, Mrs. Clinton herself was under investigation for her careless use of a private email server rather than sending correspondence through her government email account. Over 100 emails on her server were marked classified, and over 2000 were confidential. When Clinton’s emails were subpoenaed, she had her staff purge emails she claimed dealt with Chelsea’s wedding and her yoga. She actually deleted 30,000 messages of the nearly 60,000. Pretty outrageous, don’t you think? But, there’s more. Hillary actually had her close personal aids smash all of her BlackBerries with hammers. Let’s listen to CNN’s Brooke Baldwin ask for a fact check on this because she’s a liberal propagandist and can’t believe what she’s hearing. The rest of us who keep up with the news knew this long ago. Here’s the segment:

ounds like obstruction to me; how about you? Was Clinton indicted? Arrested in the early morning hours by law enforcement dressed for combat? Anything? Nope! Hillary is a woman and a Democrat. Of course she hasn’t faced justice. The FBI director at the time, James Comey, exonerated her from all crimes related to the emails.Lawlessness anyone?

Then in a move that can only be characterized as political jujitsu and psychological projection, Hillary Clinton and her team began to accuse the Trump campaign of the very thing her staff had done: collude with the Russians. It seems the Deep Staters were so intent on making sure Hillary won, that they set about to entrap some of Trump’s lesser known aides into collaborating with so-called Russian operatives. This would give them an in into the Trump campaign because they would have a reason to investigate everyone in Trump’s personal and political sphere.

Thus began the witch hunt, the collusion delusion, the I-can’t-believe-I-Didn’t-Win excuse into two years of thug-like investigations into Trump world. It cost the American taxpayers over $30 million dollars to allow arrogant, dishonest, sanctimonious individuals in the Justice Department to investigate all facets of Donald Trump’s life. Yet, even after two years of the longest colonoscopy on record aided by the most politically biased team of lawyers imaginable, Mueller announced two weeks ago that there was no collusion between the Trump campaign/administration and Russia.

THIS INJUSTICE CRIES OUT FOR GOD’S JUSTICE

Let’s sum this up. Hillary obstructed justice when she destroyed over 30,000 emails subpoenaed by the Justice Department, had her aides destroy all her BlackBerries with hammers, and paid for the fake dossier assembled by a former British spy who colluded with Russians to create an obscene work of fiction to stage a silent coup unseating a sitting President. Wow! The words, “Lock her up” come to mind at this juncture. But wait, who’s spending time behind bars? Two individuals who at one time had been a minor part of the Trump campaign. Whose lives have been torn apart by this conspiracy of lies? Well, the names General Michael Flynn, Jerome Corsi, Carter Page, and George Papadopoulos come to mind. I wonder if people like John Brennan, James Comey, James Clapper, Sally Yates, Rod Rosenstein, Peter Strzok, and Lisa Page have ever heard of Proverbs 19:5. It says:“A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who breathes out lies will not escape.”

Okay, I’m good with that. The Lord will mete out true justice, but I’m hoping that those investigating the investigators will soon issue indictments, so that nothing like this can happen again to a sitting President.

QUESTIONING OUR JUSTICE SYSTEM

Earlier in the podcast I mentioned America now has a two tiered system of justice rather than what the 5th and 14th amendments provide which is due process. Some refer to that as equal justice under the law. Through all the examples I’ve illustrated, and some no doubt you can come up with on your own, it’s obvious there is definitely not equal justice in America today. The tragedy of what’s been happening over the last few decades is that as the wealthy, politicians, actors, the well-connected, and liberals skate away from crimes committed with a slap on the wrist, ordinary Americans are becoming cynical about our justice system. That’s a bad omen. When the average citizen realizes that those with money can get away with crimes for which they themselves would have to pay a stiff fine and endure jail time, they begin to question the system of government they have. This is the stuff of banana republics, and this is how revolutions begin. I’ll leave it at that.

A PRAYER FOR JUSTICE

Heavenly Father, Almighty God, Omnipotent, Powerful, Awesome Lord, thank you for mightily blessing our nation throughout history and even today. Your blessings are too many to comprehend, and yet you give them freely even though we don’t deserve them or your grace. I will always marvel at that. Father we know that true justice will only come to our nation and the earth with Jesus’ second coming, but we still come to you today and ask that you open the eyes of our politicians that they might understand the tenuousness of our broken justice system today. And, that once their eyes are opened that they work to repair this two tiered system of warped justice.

Let it be as is written in Amos 5:24: “…let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.” Place your hand on our country Lord, and ensure that every person who has benefited from a rigged policy, every person who actively sought to bring down a sitting President through lies and innuendo, and every person who has chosen willfully not to obey our laws suffer your true justice. The innocent and the framed individuals cry out for your mercy and justice, Lord. Let your blessings wash over these individuals, so that they might experience your grace. We ask these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.
