10^th Station Jesus is stripped of his garments.

We adore you O Christ and we praise you,

Because by your Holy Cross you have redeemed the world.

What does it mean to be stripped of dignity? I think of refugees who flee their homes because of persecution and then face abuse from those in another country where they seek safety. People who are racially abused just because of skin colour or country of birth. The world is good at removing dignity from it’s people. We can conform to that process and join in or we can find another way, the way of the Cross

Jesus is stripped of his garments, he is exposed to the gaze of the crowd. He offers all to the Fathers will and in being open to that gaze he hears the words from earlier in the gospel “This is my beloved son of whom I am well pleased.” May I not follow the crowd, or get caught up with my own self-importance. Witnessing this 10^th station may it make me humble of heart and willing to give all to the Father.
