ΤΙ ΠΡΑΓΜΑΤΙΚΑ ΕΙΠΕ Ο ΓΕΝΙΚΟΣ ΓΡΑΜΜΑΤΕΑΣ ΤΟΥ ΠΣΕ ΣΤΟΝ ΒΟΛΟΚΟΛΑΜΣΚ ΙΛΑΡΙΩΝΑ

Σε ελληνικά μέσα ενημέρωσης δημοσιεύθηκε ανταπόκριση, προερχόμενη προφανώς από την Μόσχα - αφού αναπαράγεται η σχετική ανάρτηση στο site του ΤΕΕΣ της Ρωσικής Εκκλησίας -, στην οποία γίνεται αναφορά στην πρόσφατη επίσκεψη του Μητροπολίτου Βολοκολάμσκ Ιλαρίωνος, Προέδρου των Εξωτερικών Σχέσεων του Πατριαρχείου Μόσχας, στο Παγκόσμιο Συμβούλιο Εκκλησιών (ΠΣΕ) και στην συνάντησή του με τον Γενικό Γραμματέα του, Δρα Olav Fykse Tveit.

Η εν λόγω ανταπόκριση πληροφορεί ότι μεταξύ των θεμάτων τα οποία συζητήθηκαν, ήταν και η κατάσταση που επικρατεί στην Ουκρανία. Επί του προκειμένου, ο Μητροπολίτης Ιλαρίων αναφέρθηκε στις διώξεις τις οποίες υφίσταται η υπό το Πατριαρχείο Μόσχας Ουκρανική Εκκλησία, υπογραμμίζοντας ειδικότερα ότι «η ʺενωτική σύνοδοςʺ που είχε συνέλθει προ της εκδόσεως του Τόμου Αυτοκεφαλίας, είχε συγκροτηθεί, έπειτα από πιέσεις εκπροσώπων των πολιτικών αρχών της Ουκρανίας σε ιεράρχες και κληρικούς της υπό τον Μητροπολίτη Ονούφριο τοπικής Εκκλησίας».

Στο ίδιο ανακοινωθέν, ο Γενικός Γραμματεύς του ΠΣΕ φέρεται να παρέχει διαβεβαιώσεις στον Μητροπολίτη Ιλαρίωνα ότι «το ΠΣΕ εξακολουθεί να θεωρεί την Ουκρανική Ορθόδοξη Εκκλησία υπό τον Μητροπολίτη Ονούφριο Εκκλησία, (ως) την μόνη αναγνωρισμένη Εκκλησία στην Ουκρανία» (sic).

Ωστόσο, στο επίσημο ανακοινωθέν του ΠΣΕ, το πρωτότυπο του οποίου παρατίθεται κατωτέρω, αναφέρεται ότι μετά την εισήγηση του Μητροπολίτου Ιλαρίωνος σχετικά με την επικρατούσα κατάσταση στην Ουκρανία, ο Γενικός Γραμματεύς δήλωσε μεν ότι παρακολουθεί τα εν Ουκρανίᾳ διαδραματιζόμενα, διευκρινίζοντας όμως ότι «το ΠΣΕ δεν παρεμβαίνει στην εσωτερική ζωή των Ορθοδόξων Εκκλησιών-μελών του».

Η μικρή αλλά σαφής διαφορά μεταξύ των δύο ανακοινωθέντων θα μπορούσε να εγείρει εύλογα ερωτήματα. Κυρίως όταν ληφθεί υπ΄όψιν ότι το ΠΣΕ με ιδιαίτερη προσοχή προβαίνει σε δηλώσεις πάνω σε ευαίσθητα θέματα, όπως και η πάγια τακτική του να δημοσιεύει με σχολαστική ακρίβεια τα όσα ελέχθησαν.

Το πλήρες ανακοινωθέν του ΠΣΕ έχει ως εξής:

Metropolitan Hilarion visits the World Council of Churches in Geneva Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Russian Orthodox Church Department of External Church Relations, visited the WCC at the Ecumenical Centre in Geneva on 5 June, during a visit to Switzerland.

In a meeting with Rev. Dr Olav Fykse Tveit, general secretary of the WCC, he reiterated the position of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of the Russian Orthodox Church that WCC remains important for the Russian Orthodox Church, and will continue to participate in WCC’s work.

The WCC general secretary expressed appreciation for this message. “Your presence here affirms that the Russian Orthodox Church is a part of the WCC’s work for unity and peace”, said Tveit. Both agreed that the WCC should continue to be the place where churches can meet and discuss their concerns and ongoing issues.

After a brief update from Metropolitan Hilarion on the developments related to the situation in Ukraine, the WCC general secretary said that the WCC does not interfere in inter-orthodox issues, but cannot ignore what happens in the Orthodox family.

Tveit encouraged Metropolitan Hilarion to engage the Russian Orthodox Church in the preparations for the 11th WCC Assembly in Karlsruhe, Germany in 2021, particularly reflecting on its theme, “Christ’s love moves the world to reconciliation and unity.”

Metropolitan Hilarion has been involved in the work of WCC since 1995. He has been a member of WCC Central and Executive Committees and a participant at three WCC assemblies.
