Someone asked the question: Why are people going to vote for Obama again? The answer is simple: It is because they are a herd of sheeple who love entitlements and the nanny state.
That is the same reason why most of the Repugnants will be voting for Gingrich—the Repugnant version of Obama! Gingrich is pulling the wool over everyone’s eyes—sheeple wool, that is. Like Obama, Newt is a narcissist, orator, all talk but no constructive action, and a divider (his own record of accomplishment proves that while in Congress as the Speaker of the House in the 1990s where both sides of the aisle hated his guts so much that they ran him out of Congress). Additionally, Newt is a pseudo-conservative, supports some liberal causes, a proven adulterer, lobbied for Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae for 1.6 millions of dollars, and desires amnesty for illegal aliens. Go figure!
However, the thing that slays me the most is with pure constitutional conservatives in the mix (such as Rick Santorum and Michele Bachmann), why have the evangelical religious right and the Tea Partiers migrated to Gingrich? That is something hard to believe. Obviously, they do not think either Santorum or Bachmann can win but Gingrich can. The Demonrats just love to have Newt as Obama’s competition in the general election because Newt has tons of skeletons in the closet and a ton of baggage on his back.
The other two remaining candidates are Rick Perry and Ron Paul. However, Rick Perry is just another Newt Gingrich. He was a Democrat about a decade ago and served as Al Gorlioni’s campaign manager for president! He also shot himself in the foot by giving illegal aliens free college educations with free in-state tuition in Texas. Ron Paul is a Libertarian who should run as a Libertarian. However, he cannot win as a Libertarian, and that is why he is running as a Repugnant. Furthermore, his foreign policy stinks. Statistically, Ron Paul is an outlier.

Ron Paul is an out-and-out outlier.
You BOB have obviously failed to learn from history.. If you take time to peruse some history, you will find that the socialist generally murder professors/Phd’s* when they finalize their power.

Hi Desertspeaks, I have and do study history. It is presumptuous of you to say that I “have obviously failed to learn from history.” It was philosopher, essayist, poet, and novelist George Santayana who said, “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.” I totally subscribe to that statement regarding history.
If Ron Paul becomes the Repugnant standard-bearer against Obama, I will certainly vote for Paul. All of the Repugnant candidates are an order of magnitude better than the current usurper in the White House. It is just that I don’t think Paul is the best of the current Repugnant candidates. I don’t like Paul’s foreign policy ideas, and I am certainly not a fan of Libertarianism.
I hope you will allow me the right to select and support the Repugnant candidate that I like best. I am totally against the Marxist-socialist currently residing in the White House. I am also against China, Cuba, North Korea, Russia et al. I am a “strict constructionist” Constitutional Conservative. Hence, since I am not for socialists/communists, I do not need to worry about them eating their own (i.e., me) because I am not one of them.
What I am concerned about, however, is if I do not support the candidate who you want to win that I would be eaten by you folks just because I desire to support another of the Repugnant candidates. If you do not allow me my freedom of choice and freedom of speech, then I must worry about you folks and not those I am vehemently against that are currently running the country.
Think about it. Even good guys can become bad guys if we do not keep them towing the line. In other words, Libertarians can win and take over the country. However, if they do not allow people their basic rights, then they become the enemy. Therefore, I respect your right to have your strong feelings, but it is also my right to have my own strong feelings that are different than yours. All I ask for is mutual respect.
It is through sad experience that when anyone acquires a little authority, as he thinks, he immediately begins to exercise unrighteous dominion. In that case, Pogo is right when he said, “We have met the enemy, and the enemy is us.” I am not so much concerned about socialists/communists in the countries you mentioned killing professors/PhDs as I am about “the enemy within” the USA killing professors/PhDs.
So, my friend, desertspeaks, if you don’t know what “outlier” means, look it up in the dictionary. It is not a bad or derogatory word describing Ron Paul. It just says that he is not the typical Repugnant but is a statistical outlier. He should run as a Libertarian presidential candidate in the Libertarian Party, not the Repugnant Party.
I prefer to be left to my own devices in the future. It is “the enemy within” that we need to watch out for. Today, the enemy within are those who are running our country. Tomorrow, the enemy within could be people who speak like you are speaking to me. So, everything is relative. A friend today may become my enemy tomorrow. Think about what you wrote above. Hearing it from my vantage point is scary because of your veiled threat. Think about what you wrote.
from your initial article, it’s not clear who you support.. What is clear is your verbal assault on the “repugnants”.. Now having said that, yes you are entitled to support and vote for whomever you choose, even if you are wrong.

For example, I just wrote, “Looks like you are a birther, desertspeaks.” You take offense at that and write a diatribe about it. By my making that conclusion, I wasn’t being denigrating to you about it at all. It was just a conclusion I came to from what you wrote. I have nothing against birthers. In fact, I am a birther myself, so I couldn’t be saying anything negative about you just because I said it looks like you are a birther. Thus, you have anger issues that are totally unnecessary.
