Fukushima Ops' 'Dance of Deliberate Deception' Ends?

Operator of the crippled Fukushima nuclear plant, TEPCO, admits needing overseas help to contain the radioactive fallout, after 18 months of lying about the human and environmental catastrophe. This admission comes after the latest leak at the facility Wednesday, deemed a “serious incident,” and two years of government and industry denial.

“Many other countries outside of Japan have experienced decommissioning reactors, so we hope we can consult them more and utilize their experience,” stated TEPCO’s vice president, Zengo Aizawa at a news conference Wednesday night. 

On Wednesday,  one of 1,060 temporary tanks used to store Fukushima’s highly contaminated water sprang leaks, discharging a reported 300 tons of radioactive liquid containing large amounts of cesium.

TEPCO admitted that groundwater flooding the damaged basements of the destroyed Fukushima reactors is contaminated and flowing into the ocean. 

“Three-hundred tons of the radioactive liquid reached the open water each day, even as TEPCO continued to deny the existence of the problem,” Russia Today reports.

Implications of radiation poisoning of people in Japan, the United States and the world are “unspeakable,” as one esteemed Australian reporter called it two years ago.

“In fact, the whole world will be exposed from the radiation from Fukushima,” Dr. Michu Kaku told CBS reporter Liz Hayes in August 2011.

Dr. Kaku told Hayes, “If you’ve been exposed to Cesium because you’re a nuclear power worker, even after you’re long dead and buried, your grave site will be radioactive.”

“Your great grand kids can come to your grave site with a Geiger counter and see that great granddaddy still has radiation at his grave site.”

‘Dance of Deliberate Deception’

For over two years following the historic tsunami that pounded Fukushima Nuclear Power, it has been spreading radioactive material into the area and carried by water and wind currents around the planet.

For over two years, TEPCO and the Japanese and American governments have lied about the gravity of the catastrophe and its impact on the environment and humans.

Such lies are what the late Merle Savage called the “Dance of Deliberate Deception,” referring to industry and government lies told about disastrous human and environmental damage.

Speaking about the petrochemical-military-industrial-complex’s “BP Gulf of Mexico oil/Corexit” catastrophe, Savage wrote under one of this author’s articles about related corporatization falsehoods, “Great, the oil has stopped for now; however, crude oil continues to invade the Gulf as BP, the US Government, and other official agencies monitoring the toxic crude continue to FIDDLE.”

Savage authored the book, Silence of the Sound, after suffering deathly illnesses from the Exxon-Valdez disaster, one that paled in comparison to Fukushima and the Gulf of Mexico oil/Corexit operations. She’d posted that article comment after Barack Obama and other officials spouted their disinformation that the Macondo oil in the Gulf had stopped flowing and all was well. 

“That is what I called the Dance of Deliberate Deception,” Savage had then asserted. “No one will come forward with the intestinal fortitude, and declare the obvious – that crude oil is toxic to breathe.”

One of few survivors of the 1989 Exxon-Valdez oil disaster, Savage had seen oil-related mass deaths. The Exxon Valdez was the worst oil spill the U.S. had then seen.

“It was 1989 and Ms. Savage, a healthy 50-year-old, had heard the news about it, felt compelled to help for four months,” explained Dr. Mark Sircus. “She has not been the same since.

“As she watched Gulf reports, she felt déjà vu. After all, the symptoms seem to line up: A flu-like illness. Dizziness. Nausea. Nosebleeds.”

Ms. Savage died on November 22, 2011.

Big Energy’s Dance of Deliberate Deception lived on - to kill millions, with its Fukushima operation alone.

Perhaps Wednesday night, at least in regard to Fukushima, that dance became too tiring for the global corporate government.
