Welcome! This blog is about my theological, philosophical, political and cultural interests. It consists largely of book reviews, literary excerpts, quotations, links, current news items of interest to me, and my opinions thereon. When posting I make my opinions about various groups, movements and ideologies obvious, either implicitly or explicitly. For example, both American fundamentalism and the New Atheism of Dawkins & Co. are frequently criticised. I state such views bluntly and unashamedly. In that sense, I make no pretense of being unbiased, though I do base my beliefs on objective facts. Examining issues closely and thinking about them over time inevitably leads to firm convictions one way or the other. For alternative viewpoints expressed equally or even more strongly, see a plethora of other blogs. I hope you enjoy reading some of my posts.
