Opinion from TheSorrentino.com: Beto calls the USA an “empire”, Suggests that The Constitution should ditched?

We’ll give him credit actually. On “empire” he’s telling the truth. (Though we don’t think this truth was deliberate.) The US does have an empire spread all around the globe. But it should be of some concern when someone who wants the presidency openly refers to the United States as an “empire”. So would that make Beto an emperor upon taking the White House? 

What is of concern also is his seeming contempt for the Constitution. The Constitution seeks, seeks, to keep government under control. It recognizes that the tendency is for government to usurp the power and the inalienable rights of the people. This general disposition, this generally pro bourgeois, pro industrious middle class disposition annoys (and has long annoyed) the people who think that government should control and do everything. The Constitution as battered and abused as it has been, particularly since the “progressive” era, has served as a brake on cancer like statism. Beto, and many others would like to see the cancer metastasize. (Of course they don’t see big government as a cancer.)

Some analysts think that Beto is more likely to seek a spot on the 2020 ticket as the Democratic vice presidential candidate, but with views like this, many conservatives will want him nowhere near the White House.

Libertarians shouldn’t want him anywhere near the White House either.
