Welcome to the 13th installment of Trending Tech Tuesday, our weekly look at the trending tech skills in Emsi’s job postings data. Last week, we talked about the open-source data visualization and monitoring tool Grafana. Today, we’ll talk about Alteryx.

What is Alteryx?

Alteryx is a data analytics platform that is particularly unique in that it offers intuitive, code-free analytics as well as advanced modeling with code. It is popular for its ability to blend data from various sources across organizations, its self-service analytics with intuitive and repeatable workflows, and for its general ease-of-use (and implementation).

Alteryx skills gap: 3,994 people

Now, let’s look at the Alteryx skills gap. During the last 12 months, we found 7,612 job postings requiring Alteryx. But only 3,618 professionals currently list Alteryx as a skill on their professional profile or resume. That means over the last year, there have been 3,994 more jobs requiring Alteryx than there are professionals with the skill.
