Early Horse Racing Odds for the 2019 Queen Mother Champion Chase

We’re quickly approaching another edition of the Cheltenham Festival, and with it comes the expected level of betting action. Bookmakers provide odds on every race especially early so their many customers can make  Cheltenham racing tips in advance, locking in the best price and avoiding any chance of ruining the bet they fancy. There’s more than one key race at the festival and one of the many massive races is the Queen Mother Champion Chase. With only a matter of weeks until it gets underway, we’ve taken a look at ante post tips for the prestigious race meeting.

Cheltenham Festival favourites

Not only a favourite in the Queen Mother Champion Chase but also a horse that’s likely to appear in a lot of Cheltenham racing tips in future years, Altior has become a horse that’s reliable to bet on. Trained by formidable professional horse trainer Nicky Henderson, Altior enjoys an incredible record of seventeen wins and one third from nineteen runs, making him one of the most consistent horses in the sport. Bookmakers only price him as high as 2/5 to win the 2019 Queen Mother Champion Chase, making him the clear favourite.

Despite Altior odds being fair considering how likely he is to win this race, not everyone is entirely convinced by him, with other alternatives being priced slightly higher. Min and Un De Sceaux are worthy Cheltenham racing tips to a lot of punters at 7/1 but second favourite Footpad is given odds of 5/1, and based on recent performances, he’s an enticing alternative to Altior. Footpad possesses a record of ten wins, four seconds and three thirds from twenty-two runs, and a win in last year’s Racing Post Arkle Challenge Trophy Novices’ Chase does enough to convince the unbelievers.

Big-odds outsiders

Considering the potential outsiders for your Cheltenham racing tips is far from easy but it’s possible to use this to your advantage if there’s any horses that have shown enough quality in similar race meetings. After the two 7/1 picks, odds range from 14/1 to as high as 50/1, with even the largest price being Special Tiara, who many would see as a likely candidate after winning the 2017 Queen Mother Champion Chase. Regardless of how you choose to bet on the Queen Mother Champion Chase, it’s expected that most Cheltenham racing tips will be spread between Altior and Footpad, with a lot of punters aiming to find the best possible price on Altior before the odds go below 1/3.
