Arizona Mom Charged With Drowning Baby And Blaming Death On Her Toddler Daughter

A Phoenix mother is accused of allowing her baby to drown and blaming the death on her toddler daughter. The Arizona father of a 1-year-old baby girl who was drowned in a bathtub has come out in support of the infant’s mother who was charged in the death. Brenda Ramirez, 21, was arrested on child abuse charges for the death of her baby Melani.

Brenda Ramirez was charged with two counts of felony child abuse after Melani as found dead in the bathtub. Miguel Contreras, the father of the 1-year-old claims his girlfriend loved their two daughters. After discovering the baby in the bathtub the mother reportedly sent a text message to a friend which read, “Dude i think [V2] drowned [V1].” The “V” represent minor children’s names as they were noted in the police report.
