A Time For Choosing

Leadership is the toughest thing in business.  I came across this resource that I thought I would share with you.  Linda Ginzel is a professor at Chicago Booth.  She has studied leadership for years.

Recently, she came out with a book and a website devoted to it.  The name of the of the book is “Choosing Leadership”.  She is trying to create some community by having tabs on the website with “stories” and “advice”.  There are some up there already but feel free to add your own.

The interesting thing is the book isn’t just a sit and read book.  It’s interactive.  It has leadership exercises where you are forced to reflect.

Sometimes that’s where leadership happens.  It’s not just in the moment but in the quiet time outside of the heat of the battle.  It’s being mentally prepared for any situation that might occur so when you are in the moment you can use the right kind of leadership skill to motivate for that moment-and that person.

This is a different kind of book.  I would encourage you to get it.
