Brexit Is Nearing, ESMA and UK CCPs Are Trying Their Best to Prepare

For over a year Brexit has been talked about pretty much everybody in the world. The problem quickly became global when everybody thought that it would only affect the EU. Some major alliances came into question when one of the largest economic contributors of the Union decided to pack up and leave. Arguably, Brexit is the event that caused all of the financial and cultural disputes we see today all over Europe.

ESMA and UK CCPs scramble for a solution

According to reports, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) is already working with the Central Counterparty Clearings (CCPs) in the UK, in preparation of Brexit. The deadline of Brexit is nearer every day, which pumps up the stress of politicians, financial institutions and everybody involved in anything pretty much. Will there be a deal or no deal? Nobody knows yet.

There are only a few months left before the March 30th Brexit.

The deal and no deal Brexit are also referred to as Hard and Soft Brexit. Which basically means if economic ties will either be partially or completely severed. The UK government obviously wants to keep the ties, but some say it would be foolish from the EU to let the UK walk over them so much. A state leaving the union and expecting the same treatment?
