Biome Grow Corp (CSE:BIO) (OTCMKTS:ORTFF) announced Thursday that its Nova Scotia-based subsidiary Highland Grow Inc has won its first purchase order with the Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation.

The first shipment of cannabis products to be sold to consumers in Nova Scotia is expected to be received by the Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation later on Thursday.

This is the first shipment of what Biome Grow expects to be regular deliveries to the Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation. The first shipment consists of three genetic varieties and Highland Grow is set to expand its offerings with subsequent shipments starting later this month.

“As a team of proud Nova Scotians, we are excited to see the first shipment being delivered from our locally established facility to the Nova Scotia consumer,” said Frank MacMaster, president of Highland Grow.

Highland Grow is the first of Biome Grow’s facilities licensed for cannabis production and sales and its production facility is located in Antigonish, Nova Scotia.

Highland Grow recently received sales authorization from Health Canada. The amendment to Highland Grow’s existing Health Canada license allows the Nova Scotia-based company to sell its products to consumers of both medical and recreational cannabis.

Biome’s subsidiaries in other provinces include The Back Home Medical Cannabis Corporation in Newfoundland and Labrador, Great Lakes Cannabis and Weed Virtual Retail in Ontario, and Red Sands Craft Cannabis in Prince Edward Island.

Biome Grow shares rose nearly 10% to hit C$0.68 in Thursday’s morning trading session.
