Snow Globe: ‘Flat Earthers’ Planning 2020 Antarctica Cruise to Prove the World Is Really Flat by Locating Fabled Hidden Ice Wall

Conspiracy theorists are heading to the ‘end of the world’ in a bizarre bid to prove the Earth isn’t a sphere. The Flat Earthers plan is to sail to Antarctica to find the frozen barrier they believe marks the edge of our world.

Where do I begin with this one? Do I think the earth is flat? No, I do not. But neither do I think that there are any countries that are “upside down” on the bottom of the earth, either. Because those land masses, if they were under us would be upside down. You can prove this with a simple experiment. Take a large ball, and start gluing plastic army men standing up anywhere on the ball that you can. Only the ones that are attached from the upper middle and upwards would be standing up. So it seems to me that yes, the earth is a ball, but all the land mass is on the top one-third of that ball. And honestly, that’s as close as my little mind can get to it.

“Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth? It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in: That bringeth the princes to nothing; he maketh the judges of the earth as vanity.” Isaiah 40:21-23 (KJV)

So in 2020, the Flat Earthers will take a cruise to Antarctica to search for the elusive ice wall that will prove their whole theory. On one hand I am fascinated by it, when people are thinking and trying to figure stuff out, that is almost always a good thing. What is not a good thing, however, is the hostility and anger that is displayed by many of the Flat Earth adherents towards those who do not think like that do. That’s not cool.

My advice? Well, the bible commends the Berean people who didn’t just believe what they were told, but ‘searched the scriptures daily’ to see if those things were true. FROM THE NY POST: The supposed ‘ice wall’ is said to be a couple thousand feet thick, towers 164 feet high and surrounds the entire planet. Next year’s trip — details of which are being kept under wraps — is being organized by the Flat Earth International Conference (FEIC).

Even YouTube star Logan Paul wants to join the expedition so he can “find the facts” behind the bonkers theories. FEIC founder Robbie Davidson told Forbes: “If you take a globe and you squish it down, the Antarctic would go all the way around the Earth.

“It’s kind of like an ice shore and it’s very, very large. It’s not like you just go there and you can just peek over it. We don’t believe anything can fall off the edge, because a big portion of the flat earth community believes that we’re in a dome, like a snow globe. So the sun, moon and stars are all inside. It’s very high but all contained inside. So there’s no way to actually fall off of the earth.”

But many are quick to point out the ship taking them will use navigational equipment which counts on the Earth being a sphere. Global Position Systems in particular use a network of satellites that orbit the Earth to ping off of each other and pinpoint one’s location.

In a report by The Guardian, Henk Keijer, a longtime cruise ship captain gave his thoughts on the FEIC’s plans. “I have sailed two million miles, give or take,” he said. “I have not encountered one sea captain who believes the Earth is flat.”

Some people believe the world is flat because they cannot see a curve in photos or when traveling. Others claim images showing the world as a sphere are generated on a computer and not actually taken from space.

A general consensus by Flat Earthers is that the idea of the world as round is a way NASA can dupe society along with governments to keep control. The Flat Earth Society suggest “the space agencies of the world” conspired to fake “space travel” to hide the Earth’s “biggest secret.”

“This likely began during the Cold War,” the Flat Earth Society says. “The USSR and USA were obsessed with beating each other into space to the point that each faked their accomplishments in an attempt to keep pace.” READ MORE
