SpeakEasy Cannabis Club (CNSX:EASY) (OTCMKTS:SPBBF) (FRA:39H) is a collective of premium growers with a planned 2.6 million square feet of outdoor production in British Columbia. President Brian Peery explains SpeakEasy’s growers have over 120 years of farming experience, which enables the company to produce both CBD and high-quality flowers in its outdoor space. Using the West Coast market as a model, SpeakEasy believes it is integral to be in the top 10 percent of the cannabis space to be successful and as a result plans to be a leader in the premium market. SpeakEasy has agreed to a MOU with Herbamedica to export cannabis to Germany and an LOI with Valens GroWorks (CNSX:VGW) (OTCMKTS:MYMSF) (FRA:7LV). Peery sees these deals as the framework for the company’s plan for Global distribution.

James West:   Hey, welcome back. My guest in this segment is Brian Peery; he’s the President of SpeakEasy Cannabis Club Limited, trading on the CSE under the symbol EASY. Hey, Brian, how’s it going?

Brian Peery: Good morning, thanks for having me.

James West:   That’s great, I love your symbol, EASY. That’s awesome. Tell me: what does SpeakEasy Cannabis Club do?

Brian Peery:  So we’re a collective of premium growers in BC. Right now we’ve got a 10,000 square foot facility; we’re into construction on an additional 80,000 square foot facility, and then come spring, what we’re going to be doing is planning another 60-acre hopefully outdoor grow facility where we’ll have premium cannabis coming from indoor space and then we’re going to use the outdoor space to do concentrates and oils.

James West:   Interesting. So you’re planning 2.6 million square feet of outdoor production area; that’s massive. So is that, like, going to be for CBD or are you going to grow flower out there, too?

Brian Peery:  I think we’re going to do a little of both. You know, what’s going to wind up happening is, the market is going to dictate, eventually, where that’s going to wind up going. I think right now for us, our priority is basically build it, make sure that we’re doing premium cannabis, make sure that we’ve got all the operations in process. You know, we’ve got a great team of growers who’ve been in the farming industry for over 120 years. It’s the family that built SunRype, so we know what we’re doing on the farming side. It’s just a matter of time for us, getting everything in position and getting the right people in the right place. So we think that we will be able to do both CBD and high-quality flower in the outdoor space, but it is going to be challenging, and 68 acres is quite a bit, but we think we can actually do more in the future.

James West:   Wow, okay. So tell me, how much money have you raised at this point?

Brian Peery:  To be honest with you, you’d have to talk to my CFO about that; I recently signed on, and we’re going through all the books right now, and we’re meeting to discuss what we’ve done and the cash positions are, but I –

James West:   Oh, I see, so you’ve just joined the company as CEO.

Brian Peery:  Well, actually, president so actually working on the finance side and running the operational side; Marcus is actually doing the grow side. So what we’re doing is, we’re actually taking the company as kind of a two-headed approach, where Marcus is focusing on the grow side and I focus on the operational and finances side.

James West:   Very interesting. Okay, so, tell me: what are the catalysts that are going to happen in the next 12 and 24 months that are going to make you a contender? You have yet to receive a license at this point, is that correct?

Brian Peery:  That’s correct. I mean, we’ve been waiting for Health Canada; the last kind of inspection we had with them was back in March, or May, rather, and we haven’t had any further input from them, so we’re just essentially waiting on approval for the license. We think of this space in kind of two contexts: so there’s going to be the premium market, which we think we have to be in the top 10 percent of that actual space to be able to sell any other flower. If you look at the historical markets for Washington and Oregon and California, there’s a lot of flower out there, and so if you’re not in that space, it’s going to be really difficult. So that’s where we think we’re playing, there.

In terms of what we can do in the outdoor space, I think we can actually set up a lot of distribution agreements with countries such as Brazil and Mexico and Uruguay, as well as the EU, to be able to transport CBDs to both Canada and internationally. Obviously our primary focus is the Canadian market at this juncture, but when we do have to look long-term to the international stuff as well.

James West:   Okay, so is there any, I guess there’s no reason to believe that the license will be delayed for any reason, because you submitted all of the, you know, the compliance packages, and basically everything’s up to snuff?

Brian Peery:  Yeah, as far as we know, we’re just waiting on approval and we’re just continuing what we’re doing in the build-out of the indoor space.

James West:   Okay. So in the meantime, the company has been signing MOUs and LOIs. I see you’ve got an LOI with Valens GroWorks, who’s one of our portfolio companies of clients, and an MOU with Herbamedica to export cannabis to Germany. So those relationships are kind of going to open the door for you in terms of global distribution, I guess?

Brian Peery:  Yeah, and I think that those are just kind of the beginning of it. I think that the EU expansion, I think you can expect to see some Latin American expansion from us, as well as potentially an Israel kind of connection. So I think that there’s a lot of opportunities on an international side; what we need to do is make sure that we’re focused domestically first and doing everything we need to do here before really worrying about that stuff, because I honestly believe that if we can produce the cannabis that we think we can, then the demand is going to come from all over the world seeking our crop.

James West:   Sure. Okay, great, well then, in terms of the 2.6 million square feet, is that all going to be greenhouse, or is that just open-air growing?

Brian Peery:  That’s open air, outdoor. So what we’ve done is, we’ve taken the greenhouse kind of out of the equation. So we think that we can do really high-quality, premium indoor expanse, and then we don’t want to play in the greenhouse space at all; we actually think that we can do the outdoor in a concentrate market. So we know that we can do that; we think we can grow really high-quality flower out of the outdoor side as well, and so we will have both the THC and hopefully the CBD markets in that outdoor grow space.
