I Disagree ! When EPA Says Gulf Dispersants Not More Toxic Than Oil ?

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Environmental Protection Agency says a new study shows that dispersant’s used to break up oil in the Gulf of Mexico are no more toxic to aquatic life than oil alone. Read more… click..

In that dispersing the oil into microscopic droplets does more harm to aquatic and marine life for Oil in itself will float atop water and always has been this way.. The old saying Oil and Water don’t mix. Well maybe that was through design and the saying came about.

Now we have a structure of creation through chemistry that was made a way for a reason, now has been altered to allow Oil and Water to mix !

Now just what does this mean to the life under the waters that NEVER had to deal with such a diverse happening ?

When oil is spilled, much of the VOC’s vanish to the atmosphere and the remaining oil is scooped up by men while natures oil eating creatures finish the job in time, but they consume large amounts of oxygen further complicating the actions of sea life possibly depleting levels for other species of fish.

We are seeing the results in shellfish of many types including the Blue Crab and it’s larva that is a food staple of many fish in the habituate for the oil and Corexit is under the water and mixed oil to be able to go where it has never gone before. People can see the waters turning white with the mixture of oil and water plus the chemicals of Corexit are also lodged in each tiny oil droplet able to get into areas of the creature anatomy a cause of suffocation and death to such as the Blue Crabs by sticking the the gills that it uses to breath oxygen from water ? Oysters are also dieing in mass numbers because something is interfering with their ability to survive, the stench from rotting oysters is bad.

Barnacles are dieing, if it is from small oil droplets or from chemicals again ?

These are just a few creatures in the waters that I have witnessed perishing on our rivers and seas !

Where ever the Corexit has been used over the years, the sea life has the same results of creatures dieing !

In normal oil spills there were no lasting problems with many of these creatures and life continued pretty much unabated for the creatures were under the oil and mostly not affected at all !

Must be a reason so many Country’s decided it was not in the best Interest to use Corexit !

Corexit may break up the oil and disperses it across large areas of vase quantities of waters, but in the end it will end up on the sea floor and on land where it will once again condense back to oil, so just spreading the problem over a much more vase area.

But now we have the problem of detergents as well as Chemicals that the Aquatic and marine life have to deal with also and there has been no long studies on the desk of the users because they do not want to see it or already know of the effects !

Other countries HAVE DONE STUDIES as to Corexit and It is devastation to sea life of many forms, therefore banning it’s use !

Now lets wait and see the Human toll again while the victims suffer !

Experts: Submerged oil threatens organisms

FAIRHOPE, Ala. — Two of coastal Alabama’s foremost marine experts agree that using dispersants to combat this summer’s Deepwater Horizon oil spill will cause problems in the northern Gulf of Mexico for years to come, but not because the chemicals BP PLC administered to break the crude into microscopic pieces pose any significant human health risk.

Instead, Dauphin Island Sea Lab Director George Crozier and Robert Shipp, chairman of the University of South Alabama’s Marine Sciences Department, said during a Friday night lectureRead more…
