Ormond Beach Florida

My times to the shorelines of the rivers this week in The Coastal Inlet Waterway have found mases dieing of Konkshell crabs, you see the Konk shell crabs could get out of the water for a time by crawling on rocks and the beach / river side as needed, but not enough I guess ! See the blackened sands…oil !

and here

and here… Notice the waters are NOT being cleaned by the oysters !

well as Ghost Crabs… the slime is becoming over whelming !

Other types deep sea crabs. Theses are washing up regularly now !

Oysters, some areas stink bad when they die. And many still fish and crab where the stink is ??? But many complain there are few crabs to be caught !

Barnacles broke free and washing ashore

and on piers died and turned white…

November 28, 2011

By Ludmilla Lelis, Orlando Sentinel

Oysters were once so rich in the Halifax River along the Volusia County coast that local restaurants and seafood markets enjoyed a plentiful harvest for decades.
During the past 20 years, much of that bounty died away from the ravages of boat wakes and pollution, leaving only some oysters clinging to sea walls and …
