MIDTERM EXIT POLLS: 75% REJECT EXECUTIVE AMNESTY, 80% DON'T WANT FOREIGN WORKERS TAKING JOBS FROM AMERICANS

“Americans who voted in the midterms on Tuesday overwhelming are opposed to President Barack Obama’s executive amnesty and do not want foreign workers to take jobs from Americans and legal immigrants who are already here. 

Studies have been done that prove that not only have most job gains gone to immigrants, but they are taking jobs away from Americans across all levels of the job spectrum. It is a LIE that immigrants are only taking the jobs that Americans “won’t do”.

Here’s the proof:

 

“Americans who voted in the midterms on Tuesday overwhelming are opposed to President Barack Obama’s executive amnesty and do not want foreign workers to take jobs from Americans and legal immigrants who are already here.

An exit poll conducting by Kellyanne Conway’s The Polling Company found that three-quarters (74%) of voters believed that “President Obama should work with Congress rather than around Congress on immigration and separately.” reports Brietbart. 

“Overall, strong “majorities of men (75%), women (74%), whites (79%), blacks (59%), and Hispanics (54%),” in addition to tri-partisan majorities of “self-identified Republicans (92%), Independents (80%), and Democrats (51%)” did not want Obama to enact an executive amnesty on his own. Only 20% of voters wanted Obama to move forward with his executive amnesty. 

Obama may also grant work permits to millions of illegal immigrants and give the tech industry nearly a million more guest-worker permits via executive amnesty. 

But 80% of voters surveyed wanted “new jobs created by the economy to go to American workers and legal immigrants already in the country.” The view was shared across all regions—74% in the Northeast, 80% in the Midwest, 85% in the South, and 80% in the West–and among men and women (no gender gap). 

As the Polling Company noted, these numbers turn “on its head the elitist idea that illegal immigrants ‘do the jobs that Americans don’t want to do.’”

“Voters overwhelmingly prefer an immigration system that protects American workers,” the polling memo states. “Therefore members of Congress should feel confident that voters will support actions using the power of the purse to protect American workers from Obama’s executive amnesty threat.”

But even after Democrats were thumped on Tuesday, Obama said he would enact his executive amnesty, which may include granting work permits to millions of illegal immigrants that would allow them to legally compete with American workers for nearly every job.”
 

Considering these facts about immigrants and jobs, people have real concerns:

Center for Immigration Studies,

“Government data show that since 2000 all of the net gain in the number of working-age (16 to 65) people holding a job hasgone to immigrants (legal and illegal).

All of the net increase in employment went to immigrants in the last 14 years partly because, even before the Great Recession, immigrants were gaining a disproportionate share of jobs relative to their share of population growth.”

Second, the decline in work among the native-born over the last 14 years of high immigration is consistent with research showing that immigration reduces employment for natives.
 

Americans that are not working keep on increasing in numbers, as shown to the chart to your right.

As the above chart shows, all the new jobs are going to immigrants. There are many more immigrants than we are being told.

This is a reminder of how large the scale of immigration has been over the last 14 years.

If adjusted for undercount, the actual number of new arrivals in the last 14 years is almost certainly more than 17 million.

Three were higher-skilled: management, computers, and healthcare practitioner. But immigrants also made significant gains in more middle-skilled jobs, such as health care support, office and administrative support, and sales. 

In terms of new arrivals, one out of six found work in just these three middle-skilled occupations. Clearly immigrants took jobs in occupations throughout the economy.

It is simply not the case that there are jobs that Americans do not do.

There are ways in which the immigration system makes immigrant workers more attractive than natives. For example, the Summer Work Travel Program (part of the J-1 visa program) allows employers to hire temporary workers without having to make the Social Security and Medicare payments that employers would be required to make on behalf of native-born workers.”

As new immigrants arrived, they filled what jobs became available and theemployment rate of younger natives fell dramatically. “
 

Michelle Malkin sums it up perfectly, “Enough is enough. An important bloc of voters made their voices heard on Tuesday. Their message: Quit rewarding people who violate our immigration laws. They chose a sovereign nation over an illegal alien sanctuary nation, and they told politicians in both parties loud and clear: Put Americans first.

Will D.C. listen?

These voters are tired of politicians creating magnets for illegal immigrants. They’re tired of preferential treatment for defiant border-crossers, visa overstayers and deportation fugitives. They’re tired of the heavy costs and consequences of the government’s systemic refusal to protect its borders and fully implement interior enforcement.”
