Juarez: 4 state and municipal police suffer reprisal attacks in 48 hrs after torture video is published

There were rumors yesterday that Commander Armengol, who tortured a La Linea Member caught on cell phone footage, was killed. However his name was not released as being hurt or killed. Further, he was being detained.

He was terminated from his position in the aftermath.

An element of the State Security Commission (CES) died this afternoon after a new attack on police officers in Ciudad Juarez, the State Attorney General’s Office said.

This makes four assaults against state and municipal police in 48 hours.

The last event was recorded in the Avenida de las Torres and Paseo de los Compositores, in El Campanario Fractionation.

The authorities reported that the agent was transferred to the Regional Hospital 66 of the IMSS, where despite receiving medical attention his death was reported.

Additionally, yesterday an element of the Municipal Public Security Secretariat (SSPM) was shot dead in his house in Colonia Los Ojitos.

The SSPM reported that the attack against agent Miguel Ángel Salas López, 35, was a reprisal killing.
