DTF says $32,000 found in the suspect’s possession
Drug Task Force Intercepts Nearly 2 Pounds of Heroin plus $32,000 in Cash in Eureka , Ca

Note: On Nov 1st I did a Post Entitled: Humboldt County’s largest Heroin Bust

I made note then that while we here at BB are so used to reading about the hundreds or thousands of Kilos busted, we must remember that those shipments are meant to be delivered to “HUBS”. These are the kind of small busts that are insidious to small communities, especially small rural communities all over the country. These are the drugs and the people that are hard at work doing cartel business and feeding the ever growing heroin, meth, cocaine and fentanyl laced drugs that are so ruinous to lives, families and entire communities. Here is just one more example. The last “biggest bust” netted 4 pounds of heroin, $35,000 , guns and 3 Mexican nationals were arrested.

This is a press release from the Humboldt County Drug Task Force. The information has not been proven in a court of law and any individuals described should be presumed innocent until proven guilty:

Jaime Laveaga-Nava from Sinaloa , Mexico

On November 13, 2018, at approximately 2:30 p.m.

Special Agents with the Humboldt County Drug Task Force, with the assistance of a narcotic detection K9 from the Humboldt County District Attorney’s Office, served a search warrant at a motel located in the 4000 block of Broadway, Eureka.

Agents previously received information that Jaime Laveaga-Nava , age 29, from Sinaloa, Mexico is a member of a Drug Trafficking Organization who is currently distributing heroin throughout Humboldt County.

Agents contacted Laveaga-Nava at his motel room and detained him without incident. Agents searched Laveaga-Nava’s room and located nearly two pounds of heroin packaged for sales, digital scales, and other packaging material.

Agents also located approximately $32,000 in U.S. currency that is believed to be the proceeds of illegal narcotics sales. This currency will be held pending asset forfeiture proceedings.

Laveaga-Nava was subsequently placed under arrest and transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility where he was booked for possession and transportation of a controlled substances. (No mention of his bail; the last 3 had $500,000 bail)

Note: This is yet one more ” small time ” takedown of CDS heroin, cash and criminal; one of a hundred that happen in small communities all over small California communities, Eureka is particularly hard hit area, which is also not far from Pelican Bay Prison, one of the cornerstones of DTO, MM and gang presence in California.
