Wave of violence in Guanajuato: At least 19 people are killed in less than 24 hours

Guanajuato: In a period of approximately 24 hours, a total of 19 people have been executed in various events in Guanajuato. On a September day Guanajuato experienced 40 murders and August had a total of over 300, ie an average of 10 + per day of the month.

The usual reasons are given for the hideous wave of violence and these stats: Criminal groups, particularily CJNG, warring over plazas and drug trafficking routes.

One of the executions of this day was held in the municipality of San Francisco del Rincón , where a man was murdered inside the San José private hospital. The assassins came to finish him off.

The victim, whose identity has not yet been revealed, was shot while outside his home, after the attack he was transferred alive to the San José private hospital , where heavily armed men entered in a violent manner to ”finish him off”. Some witnesses informed the authorities that this attack was perpetrated by no less than 10 people on board two vans.

In the municipality of Pénjamo, a multiple execution was reported, in which 4 people lost their lives. Their bodies were found inside a vehicle that they left parked on a dirt road located between the communities of El Guayabo de Origel and El Comalillo.

In Salamanca , three people traveling on the highway, at the height of the community La Luz, were forced to descend from their vehicle, in order to execute them and leave them by the side of the road. This violent act was reported shortly before 7:00 in the morning of this Tuesday.

To these homicides there are 3 more committed in the municipality of Salvatierra; where the bodies were located on the morning of Tuesday, in the main park of the community of Cupareo. It is presumed that these bodies were abandoned during the early morning hours.

Two more executions are added to the figures already reported by the municipality of Irapuato. The first attack occurred in the early hours of Tuesday in the community of Rancho Nuevo de Yóstiro; There, armed individuals entered a house, forcibly removed a man and shot him several times.

In the town of Rancho Nuevo de Yóstiro in Irapuato, during the early hours of Tuesday an armed group entered a house where he took a 40-year-old man who worked in an industrial dining room, was murdered outside his home and later his body was found in the community of San Cayetano.

In another event, the body of a man was located in the dry brush along side the Santa Rita stream , a few centimeters from the water.

In Valle de Santiago, a man was murdered inside his home in the community of Zapotillo de Mogotes. The incident happened after an armed commando entered the victim’s house by force.

Hours later, in the Magdalena colony of this same municipality, the homicide of 4 day laborers who were attacked when they were meeting on the public highway after finishing their workday was reported. The four migrant men who had recently returned from the United States were murdered in the municipality of Pénjamo, their bodies were found in an abandoned truck on a dirt road between the towns of Comalillo and Guayabo de Origel.

The execution of a man was raised in the municipality of León. At 6:30 in the morning of this Tuesday, the body of a man was located in a vacant lot next to a petrol station located on the junction of the boulevards Jorge Vértiz Campero and Juan Alonso de Torres. In the town of San Miguel de Rentería in Leon a man came to the gas station to ask for help for the wounds he was carrying but died on the spot. While in Silao the murder of a man in the community of El Coecillo was reported.
