"El Comandante Diablo" Sentenced to 53 Years

David Rosales Guzmán , “El Comandante Diablo” , identified by the Federal Government as head of the plaza for Gulf cartel , in Monterrey, Nuevo León, was sentenced to 53 years in prison for the crimes of organized crime, kidnapping, homicide, crimes against health and carrying a firearm for the exclusive use of the armed forces.

Said person was detained by elements of the Federal Police in 2012, in the Los Independientes neighborhood, municipality of Nuevo León.

At the time, it was pointed out that the previous Federal Public Security Secretary as responsible for multiple homicides, kidnappings, extortion and attacks.

Among the crimes attributed to Rosales is the murder of two men , whose bodies were hung over a pedestrian bridge at the edge of Monterrey and the municipality of San Nicolas de los Garza on August 8.

Similarly, he was held responsible for the attack on the Matehuala Mens Club in Monterrey on August 14, 2012 in which 14 people died and another three were injured.
