MH370 Hijacked Drone 'On Autopilot' Officials Say. Diego Garcia More Likely

The ‘missing’ Malaysian Airlianes flight MH370 plane was on autopilot, according to the latest official reports, increasing suspicions that it was programmed for a Diego Garcia landing and some passengers interrogation, especially since the US has charged China with cyber spying.

The “missing” Boeing 777, carrying mainly Chinese, including over 20 cyber experts, was on autopilot when it ran out of fuel and crashed into Indian Ocean, Australian officials say, again neglecting to refer to Diego Garcia where many suspect the plane remotely flew and again campaigning for the story that the plane crashed with 239 passengers on board.

The news comes as a US grand jury charged five Chinese military hackers with cyber espionage against US corporations in a landmark set of indictments in May.

In an unprecedented move, the US levelled criminal charges against five Chinese military officials, accused of masterminding government-led cyber hacking to steal trade secrets from six major American companies, operating in the key energy and metals  industries.

According to Attorney General Eric Holder, the targets were the nuclear power station manufacturer Westinghouse Electric, US Steel, Allegheny Technologies and Alcoa, as well as subsidiaries of SolarWorld, the US solar power group. 

The Chinese hackers also broke into computer networks of the United Steel Workers and other unions.

“Certainly for its path across the Indian Ocean, we are confident that the aircraft was operating on autopilot until it ran out of fuel,” Australian Transport Safety Bureau chief commissioner Martin Dolan told reporters in Canberra on Thursday.

When responding to a quesiton about the autopilot, Dolan did not answer the question many have asked: Did the autopilot need to ne manually switched on, or could it have been activated automatically.

“The basic assumption would be that if the autopilot is operational it’s because it’s been switched on,” he answered.

Neither he nor the transport minister answer exactly why the autopilot would have been set on a flight path far off course from the jet’s destination of Beijing, nor exactly when it was switched on, nor whether it was activated in the cockpit or remotely.

“We couldn’t accurately, nor have we attempted to, fix the moment when it as put on autopilot,” Transport Minister Warren Truss said. “It will be a matter for the Malaysian-based investigation to look at precisely when it may have been put on autopilot.” 

This information from the historic Flight 370 investigation came as officials announced another change in the search area, according to the Associated Press.

The aircraft is reported to have “vanished” March 8 after departing Kuala Lumpur International Airport, carrying 239 passengers and crew, who continue to be classified as missing persons.

The new search area is several hundred kilometres southwest of what some officials claim to be the most recent suspected crash site, about 1,800km off Australia’s west coast, according to Dolan.

The search area has changed multiple times in the months since Flight 370 vanished, as officials struggled to make sense of the limited data the flight left in its wake after it dropped off radar.

Previously, it was reported that military avionic expertise was employed to dodge radar for hijacking Malaysian Airlines MH370 Boeing 777, according to officials’ new statements and information that also indicate both theMaldives islanders’ sightings of the low-flying Boeing 777 and thus the Diego Garcia use in the black  operation are more probable.

Whoever altered the path of the jet, and disabled ACARS and the transponder, “had to be a passenger or crew member who knew how this airliner is flown, and how those systems are disabled, in great detail,” reports stated.”

The low altitude flying fit a mid-April report by Malaysia’s New Straits Times newspaper that co-pilot Fariq Abdul Hamid attempted to make a mid-flight phone call shortly before the plane went off radar. For the phone signal to reach the reported telecommunications tower near the Malaysian city of Penang, the plane would needed to have been flying under 7000 feet, the Independent reported.”

 
The newspaper report said the signal ended abruptly before contact was established.

The US “will not tolerate foreign government efforts to sabotage American companies,” Mr Holder declared this week.

The Chinese alleged stolen secrets were of “significant and demand an aggressive response”.

They endangered US economic security, that “in turn is directly linked to our national security.”

According to the indictments handed down by a grand jury in Pennsylvania – where most of the alleged victims are based – the five charged are officers in the Chinese People’s Liberation Army, who led a conspiracy to steal information.

The hacking “appears to have been conducted for no reason other than to advantage state-owned companies and other interests in China, at the expense of businesses here in the United States,” Mr Holder said.
