a newborn baby breathes his first

an old man in a somber hearse
emptiness in emptiness

a feeling flows through and is felt,
emptiness in emptiness
stars shimmer on Orion’s belt,
emptiness in emptiness

a Buddha statue by a stream,
emptiness in emptiness
a billionaire’s financial dream
emptiness in emptiness

a monument from Roman days
emptiness in emptiness
a twig caught in a burning blaze
emptiness in emptiness

a joyful laugh shared with a friend
emptiness in emptiness
a summer’s start, a winter’s end
emptiness in emptiness

a mountain in a winding range
emptiness in emptiness
paints on a canvas rearrange
emptiness in emptiness

a tear runs down a tearful face
emptiness in emptiness
shards strewn from a broken vase
emptiness in emptiness

a fertile Earth, a fresh green seed
emptiness in emptiness
a grey and deadened ancient tree
emptiness in emptiness

a look of love, a broken heart
emptiness in emptiness
growing together and apart
emptiness in emptiness

the liberation of the free
emptiness in emptiness
a prisoner who cannot flee
emptiness in emptiness

all thoughts of you, all thoughts of me
emptiness in emptiness
beyond becoming, we are free
emptiness in emptiness.
