Agenda 21? West Va. Gov. Tomblin, Rep. Capito paid $2M for 300k to drink poison (Video)

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

At least $2 million from fossil fuel industries has been funneled directly to two West Virginia leaders, its governor and its United States Representative, ensuring they and their appointed leaders in key positions will protect the 1%, including the major coverup of an ongoing, possibly Agenda 21-relaed nightmare: 300,000 people breathing and ‘drinking poison,’ as one W.V. resident writes this week.

West Virginia Govenor Earl RayTomblin received $1,500 from Freedom Industries’ Farrell and Forrest during his 2011 and 2012 campaigns for governor, according to filings with the West Virginia Secretary of State. Freedom Industries, a distributor for Koch Industries, owns the tank that leaked poisons throughout nine counties on Jan. 9, poisoning some 300,000 Americans there.

Last week, the governor claimed he didn’t know about Freedom’s campaign contribution to him until he read about it in the newspaper.

Hoepfully, the governor is reading this article, because he also might also claim not knowing that the fossil fuel industry paid him $628,393 to ensure he leads the state for its dirty energy interests, rather than those of the public. But then, surely he must know, because he’s doing such an admirable job protecting the 1%.

Gov. Tomblin’s handshakes with Dirty Energy are peanuts compared to United States Representative (Republican) Shelley Moore Capito’s loot from the 1%. If the seemingly blind at times governor is in the dark about this, too, perhaps a loyal reader would kindly share the following with him.

His right-hand gal U.S. Representative Shelley Capito has received a whopping $1,245, 931 from fossil fuel industries

Over 150 fossil fuel companies paid Capito to represent their interests over those of the 99%.

Capito’s been paid by the Koch boys alone $32,000.

The ‘legally blind and willfully blind’ meeting

Below is a photo of Sheri Koch and Marcus Soulsby of the National Federation of the Blind of West Virginia for meeting with Capito this week.

“Legally blind and willfully blind,” reads Frank Larnerd’s message to Capito on her Facebook page this week under the above photo. “Glad you’re doing photo-ops while your constituents are drinking poison.”

Dan Hopkins said under another photo of her on Facebook:

“She has spent years slamming those agencies who are looking out for us and the environment because as she puts it, she is looking out for coal. She looks for a photo op whenever it suits her, votes the Republican party line on all issues, even when it harms the people of our state.”

The 1% is doing well in the Wild Wonderful West Virginia with folks like Tomblin and Capito and their carefully selected department heads, all protecting corporate-government that is poisoning the people.

It seems obvious why West Virginia, Louisiana, and federal officials all promoted the same lies about hygiene and mental illness being the culprits in two separate fossil fuel disasters in the Gulf and in the Appalachans. (See Vampire Of Macondo)

In each fossil fuel-cursed region, lies and coverups were provided by the same people poisoning Americans in the first place: the fossil fuel industries.

On Jan. 13, West Virgnia officials began lifting “Do not use” orders in some counties and quit supplying clean safe water only four days after the reported disaster. They did so knowing people still smelled the strong chemical – in other words, were still being poisoned.

Officials lifted the ban in all counties by Jan. 18, declaring the water safe, and telling residents to flush home water systems before using them. Hospital admissions doubled.

As many as 411 more patients were treated for poisoning in emergency rooms alone, according to the Charleston Gazette. The number of people describing chemical poisoning – burns, rashes, neurological disorders and others who’ve not been to the hospital or doctor clinics is unknown. Judging, however, from Facebook, personal emails to this author, and this author’s interviews this week, the true number of people poisoned would range in the thousands.

Another clue about actual numbers of poison victims is West Virginia’s Poison Control Center. It’s number of callers from the impacted zone had risen to over 2,323 Saturday, according to Dr. Scharman.

“Since the 19th, another 100 people have called in reports to the Poisons Control Center, people experiencing skin rashes and nausea,” Dr. Scharman said last Thursday.

The official response to the growing number of people presenting poisoning symptoms and asking for help?

Basically, West Virgnia officials have said it’s a problem of the victims’ poor hygiene and mental health issues.

“We’re in the middle of flu and virus season,” Dr. Letitia Tierney of the state’s Bureau of Public Health said in the statement. “While the [hand] sanitizer is good for cleaning, it isn’t great for eliminating a virus.”

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin’s office issued a statement pointing to a variety of factors possibly causing the hospital admissions spike, including residents not washing their hands properly.

Adding insult to chemical exposure injury, Tierney blames the reported poisoning conditions on the same thing doctors and even Barack Obama’s Health Czar Kathleen Sebelieus did throughout BP’s Gulf of Mexico catastrophe: mental illness.

“[A] lot of people are getting very anxious,” Tierney said, encouraging people to “seek professional help” for sudden mental conditions.

“Anxiety is a real diagnosis and it can be really hard on people and it’s OK to be seen by a health professional to ensure you’re OK.”

“Some people are getting these viruses, as many people do every winter, she added.”

Some people are also getting concerned that Agenda 21, the non-binding, voluntarily implemented action plan of the United Nations with regard to “sustainable development,” is being played out in West Virginia, at the cost of human life.

Gov. Tomblin and Rep. Capito both are promoting “sustainable development” a la Agenda 21 style, not renewable energy.

A little perspective here: Agenda 21 is a well-reasoned proposal from the UN for protecting our dwindling natural resources through changes in land use and consumption practices, to be implemented independently by nations in accord with their cultural traditions and only through the informed consent of their populations. Anyone can read Agenda 21 on the UN Web site.
In the US, as undoubtedly a lot of other places, corporate-controlled governments are perverting many of the provisions of Agenda 21 for the benefit of corporations, not the people or the environment (which the people depend on). A major component of this scam is the “taking” of privately owned lands ostensibly for preservation of resources, but actually for corporate use, sometimes quite transparently.
Often, once land is seized for so-called conservation purposes, it is then made available for extractive industries: mining, fracking, lumber, etc. The only beneficiary is the corporations.
This has also been occurring in already set-aside land in our wilderness areas and national parks. Our resources have been, and are being, raped by the corporations. Nothing new.
And nothing to do with the real Agenda 21.
      The slick video above is

Damned BIN Web site cut me off in mid-sentence.
The slick video above is misleading on many points, which I won’t bore you with.
The bottom line is: something like Agenda 21 is very much needed because we are destroying the environment we depend on, but with corporations in charge of nations, governments will always pursue the interests of the corporations, not the people.
Don’t blame Agenda 21, blame the governments that use it as an excuse to feed the insatiable corporations, and replace them with a government of the people.
How? Wiser people than you and me have failed to come up with a workable answer.

Yes, yes, I agree. Agenda 21 is a great harmless piece of work put together by well meaning and intelligent people who only want whats best for us. Wait, never mind, it is pretty much the opposite of that.

How is reducing the population by 90 percent and forcing all civilians into state controlled zones beneficial to anyone other than the corporate and political slime that wrote this piece of crap in order to forever control all of or whats left of humanity.

You must be insane or some kind of shill. Either way, no one is buying what you are selling. I’ll keep my little piece of the country and my car and guns to. Thank you very much.

Dumbass. Freedom industries has fk all to do with oil/Koch Industries. They make solvents for coal mines- that have since been shut down by Obama- and water treatment plants.

      • Paul Brown

You don’t know what you’re talking about, or you’re a Freedom troll. Read Dupre’s previous article and the ones she refers to, documenting the shady establishment of Freedom, their ties to Koch brothers, their bankruptcy scam, and all the links to sources documenting these facts.
It looks to me as though most of the commenters in this Web site depend on their information on sensationalist talk radio, blogs, and Web sites, instead of legitimate news sources that do the real research. No wonder this country is in such trouble.

Freedom is basically a distributor for Koch. Koch has paid WV politicians to cover their interests.

      Agenda 21 huh…
You should go read agenda 21.

      • Paul Brown

I have read Agenda 21. That’s why I wrote about it. Something like Agenda 21 is needed to deal with consumption of resources faster than the ecosystem can restore them, and consequences such as climate change and the sixth mass extinction in the history of the planet. I’m a scientist, and I can testify to the reality of these threats. I repeat: Agenda 21 in itself is beneficial in intent, but the corporations have twisted it into something that serves them, and not our species.
Now you go read it. If your attention span is long enough.

        • Deborah Dupre

I, too, read it. In my opinion, it’s supplying corporate government with what they need to call their actions on energy “sustainable” – not renewable. It provides a tool to be implemented without the democratic principles the document says are needed for it to work for the benefit of all.

Remove local democratic dialogue and decisions it says are needed, and it’s another control method, a way to force people to give up their rights supposedly for the good of the planet, but actually, for the good of corporate government.
