Austin Restaurants Forbidden from Throwing Out Uneaten Food

Tyranny is tyranny, no matter how nicey-nice the alleged motives. In Austin, the moonbat beachhead in Texas, restaurants will no longer be permitted to throw away leftovers:

Starting Monday, Austin restaurants and food businesses have to come up with alternatives to tossing extra food in the trash.

The city hopes businesses donate the extra food to those in need, but they could also give it to local farms or compost it.

In addition to minimum wage insanity, here is another reason not to open a restaurant in a city run by moonbats:

The ordinance also requires business owners to educate employees regularly, have informational signs about the effort and submit an online Organic Diversion Plan each year.

“The effort” apparently refers to a pie in the sky plan to impose zero waste by the year 2040.

On the positive side, a few lucky derelicts are certain to get sick from eating discarded food, setting them up for some jackpot justice. Whether the restaurants or the taxpayers will be looted to finance this is unclear.
