The proverbial “tail is wagging the dog” as looney left empowers, threatens and challenges mainstream Democrats across the country. And the “party regulars” are giving in, not willing to fight the fight internally.

These are radicals, often times paid professional activists (or clearly folks with VERY flexible jobs) can time off block streets, burn cars, break windows, scream at folks they don’t agree with or like and beat on doors in the name a “resistance”.
I don’t know how a rational voter doesn’t watch these crazy folks on TV at every level and wonder how the “mob” now rules the Democrats and their politics. Worse yet, where are the Democrat statesmen calling for calm, civil discourse and debate??? From Clinton to Holder, Obama to Pelosi…not to mention Waters and others…they are throwing the proverbial “gas on the fire” that is tearing this country apart.
The challenge, the problem is voting for Democrats in this environment, with this kind of leadership only empowers and emboldens the worst in politics. Not all Democrats are bad, but the “resist” movement, lead by ANITIFA and others is NOT good for America, regardless of what you believe in.
I would encourage the Democrats to do a little soul searching of their own and find their inner “JFK” before this get even more out of hand.
Vote Early: I voted via Absentee Ballot this week! I did my part to thwart the “blue wall” and if Americans who are tired of all the crazy folks being stirred up by the “professional left” vote, maybe these folks will realize how out of touch they are with average American and stay home.
Defending our Republic is no easy task. It’s a participatory sport and folks have to be willing to step forward. The looney left stirs up hate, resentment and convinces folks that “resisting” somehow is a good thing? And so they burn cars, vandalize cities, harass folks at dinner and just plain act rude to folks who don’t agree with them?
Although some of my liberal friends get my newsletter (you can chose to stay home, it’s OK), most of you are conservatives. Make your voices heard. Vote for civility, the rule of law, decency and respect our democratic process, win or lose.

Trump’s list: 289 accomplishments in just 20 months, ‘relentless’ promise-keeping
“Trump’s successes in reducing the cost of taxes and regulations, rebuilding our military, avoiding wars of choice and changing the courts rival those of all previous Republican presidents,” said Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform.
“Trump has an advantage over Ronald Reagan: He has a Reagan Republican House and Senate while Reagan had a [Democratic Speaker] Tip O’Neill House and a pre-Reagan Republican Senate. Reagan and [former GOP Speaker] Newt Gingrich were the ice breakers that allowed Trump’s victories to grow in number and significance,” he added.
Unlike the Year One list which included many proposals and orders still to be acted on, the new collection includes dozens of actions already in place, signed legislation, and enforced executive orders.
White liberalism is dying
It’s too liberal for a majority of whites, yet too distant from the concerns of most non-whites…
…The protests liberals whipped up against Kavanaugh this weekend, on the other hand, revealed too much about their own weakness. Washington, D.C. is a majority Democratic city with a black majority. But the Democratic voters out there yelling about Kavanaugh were as white as any country club gathering of Republicans. They looked like a line of Starbucks patrons — Caucasian, professional, largely millennial, with earth tones and earnest expressions aplenty. Men and women wore the same fashionable glasses and more or less the same clothes. It was a Pumpkin Spice Riot.
Where were the black Democrats? Where were the non-yuppies? Hillary Clinton could have asked the same questions on November 9, 2016, after she failed to get them to show up for her the way they’d showed up for Barack Obama. That election, like the Kavanaugh protest, showed that white liberalism has a problem: it’s too liberal for a majority of whites, yet too distant from the concerns of most non-whites. But its proponents enjoy so much cultural prestige as liberals and so much self-confidence as part of a historic white majority — however much they may disdain such a thing — that they failed to recognise alienated they are from everyone else.
They see themselves as the natural moral arbiters of society. But nobody else sees them that way. Nothing says that a multiracial or multicultural society has to be politically centre-left, after all. India has a right-wing nationalist and religious fundamentalist government. Brazil looks set to elect a right-wing president in a runoff later this month. Yet white American liberals cling to the belief that demographic magic will rescue them from the insufficiently of their ideology appeal.
White liberalism is in fact in more trouble in this country than conservatism is. The only places where white liberals values matter are in elite cultural institutions — which is why getting Kevin Williamson fired from The Atlantic is a lot easier than getting senators to vote against confirming Kavanaugh. The Democrats had only one defection in the Kavanaugh vote, as it happens, but it was enough to avoid what would otherwise have been a 49-49 tie: Joe Manchin, up for re-election this year in the reddest state with a Democratic senator. Liberals swore retribution — supporting Kavanaugh might just have cost him the vote of every single New Yorker subscriber in West Virginia.
Decisive Political Victory is the Only Way to End This Cold Civil War
As even NeverTrump Republicans are coming around—grudgingly, and with caveats, of course—to recognizing the stakes in our ongoing domestic political fights, it is perhaps impolite to note: Some of us drew these conclusions quite a long time ago…
…Plenty has been written about the absurdity of running a republic by way of whisper campaigns, uncorroborated smears, and malicious innuendo. There is no need to rehash the mistreatment—some of it irrevocably damaging—of Judge Brett Kavanaugh. What’s important to remember is that this will now be the new norm of nomination battles. It marks the inevitable decline of our confirmation process over the last 30 years. I write “inevitable” because as soon as progressivism’s explicit living constitutionalism and implicit legal “realism” became dominant on the Left, the descent of the judiciary committee from respectable judiciousness to partisan bedlam was foreordained.
The Left’s living constitutionalism means that the Supreme Court is always changing with the times rather than orienting itself to any fixed standard; the Left’s legal realism means that even in the exercise of their power—under a fixed or evolving standard—judges are just political operatives like anyone else. Publius in Federalist 78 wrote of the ideal of judges exercising “judgment” rather than “force” or “will.” Under the modern Left’s understanding of human nature and jurisprudence, judgment is impossible—force and will are all we have. Should it be any wonder, then, that all manner of dirty tricks are fair game in judicial nominations? Given the Left’s understanding, why not treat justices like political candidates?
…The stakes are high right now in American politics. When Michael Anton wrote “The Flight 93 Election” in September 2016, many on the political and intellectual Right objected in strong (and often histrionic) terms. It has been encouraging to watch in recent weeks as independents and moderate Republicans have come to Kavanaugh’s (and, on behalf of Kavanaugh, to Trump’s) defense. The president and his nominee are players in a much larger fight over fundamental questions about who we are as a people and who ought to govern and for what purposes.
Even with these high stakes, all Americans ought to pray fervently and hope fondly that we continue this passionate and spirited national argument as fellow citizens, rather than as enemies. Come what may, each side must abide the consequences of legitimate political victory when and if it comes. Resistance to tyrants is indeed obedience to God in the American tradition, but resistance to the political opinions of constitutional majorities and their regular exercise of power is a recipe for disunion and collapse.
Spygate: The True Story of Collusion
Though the details remain complex, the structure underlying Spygate—the creation of the false narrative that candidate Donald Trump colluded with Russia, and the spying on his presidential campaign—remains surprisingly simple:
1. CIA Director John Brennan, with some assistance from Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, gathered foreign intelligence and fed it throughout our domestic Intelligence Community.
2. The FBI became the handler of Brennan’s intelligence and engaged in the more practical elements of surveillance.
3. The Department of Justice facilitated investigations by the FBI and legal maneuverings, while providing a crucial shield of nondisclosure.
4. The Department of State became a mechanism of information dissemination and leaks.
5. Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign and the Democratic National Committee provided funding, support, and media collusion.
Kanye’s Not Alone: Blacks Are Deserting the Dems
No matter how you feel about polls, twelve points in one year is significant. This is especially true (and surprising) considering the constant drum beat from the press that Trump is a racist somewhere south of George Wallace.
Somebody isn’t buying it — and it’s not just Kanye West. If this number grows just a little bit, the Democratic Party is in deep trouble. The party relies for its electoral power on overwhelming support from African-Americans, a dependency in itself inherently racist and suffused with reactionary identity politics. Without the black vote, the Dems might as well rename themselves the Celluloid Party and run Hollywood agents for mayor of Malibu. It’ll be their best chance for success.
No wonder Maxine Waters hates Trump so much and no wonder Snoop Dogg has his nose so far out of joint he’s attacked Kanye with that hoary cliché “Uncle Tom.” (C’mon, Snoop, you can do better than that. You’re a creative artist.) Actually, it’s a dead giveaway. Today’s Democrats are the natural heirs of George Wallace: “Segregation now! Segregation forever!” Only their brand of segregation means segregated dorms at Harvard and a blacks-only graduation ceremony. Talk about reactionary. Is that what MLK wanted? Gimme a break.
The Wisdom of Barry Goldwater
Arizona native Barry Goldwater once visited a golf club on the East Coast that would not allow Jewish people on its links. When he was informed that he couldn’t play the 18 holes he came for, he famously responded, “Well, my father was Jewish but my mother was Episcopalian, so can I play nine holes?”
That was classic Goldwater in many ways. A successful businessman, author, and five-term US senator, he was well known for enlisting humor in the service of a powerful point. He believed all his life that each and every individual should be judged, as Martin Luther King put it so well, by “the content of his character.” He despised stereotypes, collectivism, and groupthink in all forms and never shrank from saying so, no matter who it offended.The 1964 Goldwater campaign for president still resonates in my mind, though I was just eleven at the time. My father loved the guy. When I came home from government school one day and told him that all my teachers said Lyndon Johnson was the man to vote for, my dad instilled in me a healthy skepticism of classroom authority that’s only grown in the decades since.
The official slogan of the Goldwater campaign was: “In your heart, you know he’s right.” Democrats sneered in response, “In your guts, you know he’s nuts.” That was funny, but the policies they dumped on us when they beat Goldwater in the election were anything but. They said if the Arizonan were elected, we’d get a huge escalation in the Vietnam War; Johnson won and we got a huge escalation in the Vietnam War. They said if Goldwater won, the federal government wouldn’t care for people anymore; Johnson was elected and we ended up with a welfare state that broke families apart, trapped millions in lives of dead-end poverty, and foisted mountains of debt on generations yet unborn.
A Trio of Wealthy Russians Made an Enemy of Putin. Now They’re All Dead.
Mr. Glushkov’s death has sent a strong message to Russia’s émigré community. Mr. Berezovsky’s longtime security assistant, former Russian security officer Alexander Litvinenko, was killed in 2006 by a fatal dose of the radioactive isotope polonium-210, a murder the U.K. blamed on Russia. Another partner, Badri Patarkatsishvili, died of a heart attack in 2008, in what police have deemed natural causes.
Mr. Glushkov, Mr. Berezovsky’s right-hand man, was the last alive. His death happened one week after the nerve gas poisonings of a former Russian spy and his daughter in Salisbury, England—an attack the British and American governments have pinned on two alleged Russian agents. The Kremlin denied any involvement in this and other assassination attempts and the men say they were innocent tourists.

Debates about income inequality, “the top 1 percent,” and poverty typically examine those issues within the context of a single country. But, consider a global perspective. If you make more than $32,400 per year, you are in the top 1 percent of the richest people in the world!
And, bear in mind that the world is more prosperous than it has ever been in the past. Compared to you, the vast majority of people who have lived on this planet were desperately poor. Poverty, as Cato’s David Boaz put it in this online lecture, used to be ubiquitous. “Why are some people poor? That’s always the wrong question. The question is why are some people rich? Poverty is the natural condition of mankind, but it’s easy to forget that.”
Fortunately, prosperity is rising and global inequality decreasing. Even as the world population has exploded, the number of people living in poverty has fallen. As a result of spreading prosperity, infant mortality, illiteracy, and malnutrition are in decline, and people are living longer. Extreme poverty’s end is in sight.
Prosperity does not, of course, materialize without a cause. The role of industrialization and trade in bringing about economic growth and prosperity cannot be emphasized enough.
So the next time someone brings up poverty or income inequality within the United States, keep in mind the importance of a proper perspective. From a global standpoint, you may very well be a part of “the top 1 percent.”
Who Will Save Democrats from Their Leaders?
‘When they go low” . . . that’s where they are sure to find Eric Holder.
Sometimes, the former attorney general is excusing hard-Left, unrepentant, anti-American FALN separatists by helping a Democratic president spring them from imprisonment for their terrorist crimes.
Sometimes, he is helping a Democratic president commute the sentences of hard-Left terrorists whose only regret was their failure to shoot it out against police who interrupted another bombing spree in their war against the United States.
Sometimes, he is volunteering his legal services and his status as a former top Justice Department official to file a “friend of the court” brief on behalf of the al Qaeda jihadist who was apprehended while plotting a second wave of 9/11 mass-murder attacks.
Sometimes, he is defying congressional committees investigating his Justice Department’s reckless, politically driven “gun-walking” scheme gone awry — the Fast and Furious “investigation” that armed murderous Mexican drug gangs and got a border-patrol officer killed.
…Most conservatives see government as a necessary evil; they would like a limited United States government that reflects this suspicion and the Framers’ emphasis on liberty. Most Democrats see government as a desirable good; they would like an active United States government that rights wrongs and addresses the complex challenges of modern, globally interconnected society. Many brilliant, able people have been that kind of Democrat — the kind of patriot who loves America as it is but strives to improve it, not radically alter it. The country needs those Democrats to take their party back.
