Ham-Fisted Spin on Pipe Bombs

It is still unclear whether the pipe bombs being mailed to prominent moonbats are intended to go off, or whether they are some kind of gesture or hoax, but one thing we do know is that the liberal media is milking the story for every drop of propaganda value.

USA Today has decided that the bombs were intended not merely to express dislike of obnoxious leftists but specifically to silence critics of Donald Trump. Check out the spin in today’s report:

Three more bomb-like devices were discovered Thursday, one in Lower Manhattan near the offices of Robert De Niro and two in Delaware addressed to former Vice President Joe Biden, bringing to 10 the number of devices addressed to high-profile critics of President Donald Trump. …

“They were affixed with computer-printed address labels and six Forever stamps. All packages had a return address of “DEBBIE WASSERMAN SHULTZ” (sic) in Florida,” the agency said. Wasserman Schultz, a Florida congresswoman, is the former chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee and often criticizes the president. …

The Manhattan package was found in the Tribeca neighborhood at a site linked to actor and frequent critic of Trump, Robert De Niro. …

De Niro has been openly critical of Trump, knocking him as a “baby-in-chief” at the National Board of Review Awards in January and cursing the president at the Tony Awards in June.

Then the piece devotes two paragraphs to Trump blaming the media for whipping up the country’s angry mood.

Trusting its readers to draw the obvious conclusion, USA Today refrains from explicitly stating that Trump is attempting to deflect his culpability for the bombs onto the knights in shining armor who comprise the liberal media.
