New York Law Would Deny Gun Rights Based on Social Media

Now I get why instead of locking up violent lunatics, Big Government now allows them to run around loose so they can shoot up schools. Mass shootings serve as a pretext for all manner of tyranny. A proposed bill in the People’s Republic of New York goes after not only the Second Amendment but the free speech protected by the First as well:

Anyone who wants to buy a gun in New York would need to submit their social media profiles and search history prior to purchase if new firearm legislation in the state becomes law.

How is that for a chilling effect on speech? Say something the authorities don’t like on social media and you lose your fundamental right of self-defense.

Officials would be able to review up to three years worth of search history.

Not just anybody can go 3 years without committing a thought crime on social media. But you don’t want more school shootings, do you?

“We’ve obviously seen some of the mass shooters have a social media history that should have sent red flags.”

Maniacs like Nikolas Cruz wave red flags all over the place, not just on social media. Suspending his Second Amendment rights would have accomplished nothing. If he hadn’t been able to buy a gun legally, he would have acquired one some other way. Recall that Adam Lanza used his mother’s guns.
