Twitter Bans Misgendering, Deadnaming

It is not enough to refrain from saying 2 + 2 = 4. You must explicitly state that 2 + 2 = 5. Otherwise you could be banned from social media by the Silicon Valley thought police. Specifically, Twitter has forbidden misgendering and deadnaming, otherwise known as referring to the psychosexually deranged by their biological gender and birthname:

The microblogging giant has a history of suspending people for acknowledging biology, but now the practice is codified in Twitter’s increasingly labyrinthine rules under the hateful conduct section, which is starting to look more like a publisher’s style guide.

That could be because Twitter, like Facebook, is not a platform but a publisher. If they are going to impose editorial policy on the content, they are legally responsible for that content. They can’t have it both ways, cracking down on thought criminals as a publisher but evading lawyers as a platform.

To quote official Twitter policy,

We prohibit targeting individuals with repeated slurs, tropes or other content that intends to dehumanize, degrade or reinforce negative or harmful stereotypes about a protected category. This includes targeted misgendering or deadnaming of transgender individuals.

The very word misgender is a lie. The prefix “mis-” implies incorrectness, but the term means to refer to someone by their biologically correct gender when they would prefer to be referred to by the other gender (or rather, by some other gender, as liberals believe there are more than two). You must refer to people by the pronouns of their choice, which may either be factually incorrect or consist of non-English nonsense words such as ze/hir/hir, ze/zem/zir, ey/eir/em, et cetera.

To deadname is to refer to someone by the name they were born with rather than the name they started using to signify their imaginary transformation into a member of the opposite sex.

As reader 1-Bodhisattva observes, this means that stating the indisputable historical fact that “Bruce Jenner won an Olympic gold medal in the decathlon in 1976 at the Montreal Summer Olympic Games” qualifies as hate speech and theoretically could get you kicked off twitter, because Bruce Jenner now prefers that you pretend he is a woman and call him Caitlyn.

The thought police will have the help of many eager volunteers in enforcing this grotesque form of tyranny:

Misgender or deadname on Twitter and SJWs will hunt you down and get you deplatformed, on the grounds that their depraved point of view should be the only one allowed.
