Climate Versus Weather

So as not to be sneered at by progressives, it is important to understand the difference between climate and weather. Climate is when there is some weather event that can be seized on as evidence that failure to advance the Big Government global warming agenda is destroying the planet. Weather is when the climate continues not to be as warm as we might like it to be, despite the media screaming that the planet has a fever. For example:

The freezing temperatures broke records in parts of New England.

Boston only reached a high of 10 degrees and the temperature only climbed to a high of 1 degree in Worcester, Massachusetts, according to the National Weather Service Boston.

CNN says another cold snap is moving in this weekend. “The waves of cold air will continue for the next two weeks.”

South of New England,

“Temperatures in the low single digits and strong winds are combining for dangerous, life-threatening wind chills,” the National Weather Service’s Albany office said.

With the wind chill, the temperature dipped to negative 18 degrees in Albany and negative 7 degrees in Poughkeepsie, the NWS Albany said.

Parts of Niagara Falls have frozen.

This of course is weather, not climate. If the liberal establishment were still trying to sell us on global cooling as they were in the 1970s, then it would be climate.
