Outlook

A moist cold front is expected to drift slowly across our area today. A series of low-pressure systems will track from southwest to northeast across the Southeast states, resulting in a persistent moist pattern through most of next week. Expect the heaviest rainfall from the middle to latter part of next week. Flooding may be possible during the week.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northeast Georgia, piedmont North Carolina, western North Carolina and upstate South Carolina.

An unsettled weather pattern will set up across the region through most of next week. As rounds of widespread rainfall may occur across the area, the threat of flash flooding and flooding of rivers and streams will increase. Heavy rain will be possible Tuesday and Wednesday, and possibly into Thursday, especially in the southwest-facing slopes of the mountains.

Showers likely, mainly before 11am. Patchy fog before 10am. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with highs in the upper 50s. Calm winds. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

A 30 percent chance of rain or drizzle, mainly after 4am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 40. Light winds out of the southeast. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
