Dear Marriage Supporter — We are very grateful for the friendship and support we’ve received from so many people over this past year. Your prayers and good wishes have helped sustain us throughout a sometimes turbulent but amazingly productive and successful year.

If we look back to a year ago, Donald Trump had just been elected President, and all of us were wondering what his presidency would entail. And while there has been considerable turmoil and controversy, we have been able to work with the Administration to accomplish some amazing things. Consider:

Beyond our work with the Trump administration, we also won some amazing victories in the courts and in the court of public opinion. Most recently, we poured everything into the case of Masterpiece Cakeshop v Colorado Civil Rights Commission, a major case that has the potential of significantly improving the legal climate for people of faith to continue to live out the truth of marriage at work and in their daily lives.

I am cautiously optimistic for a victory in the Supreme Court, but win or lose we’ve got a lot of work ahead of us. This includes working with the Trump Administration to issue a formal Executive Order giving additional legal teeth to the recently-issued religious liberty directive, working with supporters in Congress to introduce and pass the First Amendment Defense Act (FADA), and working with leaders in the states to enact laws that similarly will protect the rights of people of faith.
